For the first time since the Dragon Revolution all of Areagore was happy and working together. The new king's coronation was today and Elena's dad was being a guard at the event. Cole, Elena, and Monica were walking there now because Elena's dad took the magic bus. He had specifically instructed Cole to go in looking human, apparently dragons weren't trusted anymore. Then they arrived at the gates. Since Elena was the daughter of one of the main guards and a military hero she got to go into the castle and celebrate with some of the royals. Of course she had to get dressed up though, that's why she was coming so early. She had to get a dress from one of the castle's seamstresses. Cole and Monica weren't really involved in any of this but were invited as guests anyway. This all seemed like a dream-it was just so perfect! Fancy dresses, royalty, friends, coronations, it was too good to be true!
The trio approached the castle doors and Cole hastily knocked against the dark wood. A maid opened the door and led the group to the royal family's personal seamstress for their outfits. They came to a small office that was full of outfits stacked around and piled onto various clothing racks. A man with short choppy brown hair popped his head out from under a shelf-wait... a man!? "Who're you?" he bluntly asked. "Whaddya mean, who're you? WHO'RE YOU? You're a man. I don't know about you two but I was called here to meet a seamstress, did you hear that seamstress-as in W-O-M-A-N!" Monica's voice boomed, she sure got angry fast. "Excuse me? I am a woman!" he...she responded. "W-what!? Oh my gosh, I am so sorry!" Elena quickly apologized. "Oh-uh...that came out wrong...Technically I'm a man but in order to get this job...I uh...lied on some legal papers.," he cleared up the situation and Elena let out a sigh of relief. "Why did you tell us? If we were government officials we could have you arrested-I don't think you would look over something as big as that," Cole said. "Oh, I saw an Andersen! You can always trust someone that's an Andersen," he stated as he grabbed a few bags filled with clothes. "What do you mean? That's my last name, how could you already know me? Who are you?" Elena asked. "Woah, that's a lot of questions kid! I'm Eric and well...you look just like your mother." Monica nodded in agreement while Elena stood there dumbfounded-she had never seen her mother. "Anyways, here's your stuff Andersen and company," he concluded as he handed over the various garments to Elena. "Thank you so much! How much is it all?" Elena admired the clothes and questioned Eric. "You kiddin'?! Your Ma saved the world! I am not going to charge the offspring of Areagore's savior for some petty clothes!" Eric laughed as if what Elena said was a joke. "Petty? These look like works of art to me. Thank you, Eric." Elena sighed, this stranger knew her mother better than she did.
Elena had a white dress with golden accents, it was extremely fluffy and made her feel like a princess. Monica got a short blue dress with a silver belt and Cole got a snazzy black suit. Elena's hair was pulled from the sides so that half of her hair was pulled into a braid and Monica had a tight ballet bun. They all gathered at the castle's main hall where the party was being held in honor of the prince. Elena quickly spotted her dad who was body guarding the prince and rushed over to him. "Whoah, Lena! That's a great dress but you're going to outshine the princess!"he stated once he noticed Elena. Elena laughed at the last comment, "Very funny, dad." "He's serious! You look better than my sister!" the prince said, Elena had completely forgotten that he was there! "I'm Prince Aaron of Areagore, it is a pleasure to get to meet the daughter of the great Bernard and Claire Andersen," he said as he kissed the back of Elena's hand. She panicked and nodded to try and hide her face, she knew it was customary but back on Earth you just don't kiss strangers! Her dad laughed once he noticed her blush, "You know, it's rude to ignore the prince," he mentioned. "Y-yes o-of course! The pleasure is all mine Prince Aaron, I-I'm so glad I could meet you, I'm Elena!" she smiled at her own awkwardness and noticed the prince smiling too. "Thank you Elena. I don't get to meet commoners very often so meeting you is really refreshing! Your father has already told me a lot about you. I heard your magical too, is that true?" Prince Aaron asked. "Yep, it's been quite the adventure. I'm actually from Earth so Areagore has been kind of hard to get used to." "Oh yes I can imagine, I do hope you're enjoying my kingdom though. Maybe you can tell me more about Earth sometime? I'm afraid I have to meet with our other guests." "Of course, good luck your majesty!" Elena felt so close to him already, he was so nice!
Cole instantly came to Elena, "I see you've made a new friend." "Oh yeah, he's going to make a great king right?" Elena asked. "Yes, but I was your friend first so..." he awkwardly looked at Elena, "I like your dress, master." That was weird, of course he was Elena's friend first! He was her first friend-EVER! "Uh, hun? I've gotta go stick with Sir Friendlypants k? I'll see ya' after the Coronation!" and with that Elena's dad left her. "Love you, dad! You're a great body guard!" Elena waved him goodbye and left to see Monica, she was the only other person Elena knew. "DARN CHILDREN WHY WON'T YOU LOVE ME?!" she screamed. Elena stood there, "YOU, CHILD WHY HAVEN'T YOU TALKED TO ME? WHY DON'T YOU LOOVE MEEEEEE!?" It was then that Elena realized that the author was lazy and had only given Cole and Monica three lines through this entire chapter - pathetic.
