The store was really cute, it had beige walls with a white lace-like trim around them. The wooden floors let out a few small squeaks under their feet as they walked in. Sitting at the front desk was a small lady with a tall red hat that buried itself in her brown curls. She was reading a newspaper when they came in. The door's bell chimed when they arrived and she was now on full alert. "AGH! Those clothes!" she sounded like they insulted everything she stood for. "No, Molly doesn't like it. No she doesn't! Molly wants to know why these people didn't come earlier to discuss their fashion dilemma!" great, she would help them! On her name tag were thick black letters that simply read, MOLLY. She spoke in third person!
Before they knew it the small lady had ushered them into changing rooms and was throwing different outfits at them. "I have clothes at home, Molly. I don't need all of this..." her dad's words were muffled by the stack of clothing that was stacked in front of his face. "Molly recognizes that voice! Is that little Bernard?" she was waddling over to him to help him put back the clothes. "Molly hasn't seen Bernard since the dragon revolution!" "You are still such an open gnome, at least that hasn't changed," he laughed an empty and forced laugh that made shivers run down Elena's back.
After all of that craziness Elena and Adbjorn had new outfits chosen by Molly. "Hey dad, how are you supposed to pay for this?"she asked. "With Aerens of course!" her dad replied smashing a purple bag filled with iron coins onto Molly's desk. "Oi! No smashing Molly's FABULOUS desk!" she sure was a grumpy gnome. Elena walked out wearing a long purple cloak with red trim, long tights that were striped with red and black, and a black skirt. Her dragon nervously walked out, he was awkwardly hiding behind Elena but he was much taller than her. He was wearing a black cloak with dark blue pants. He quickly threw his hood over his face and started mumbling in his native dragon language. They payed Molly and left the store and re-entered Carevesen Plaza. The streets were bustling with magical creatures. "Hmm, what else? Oh Elena! Let's get you some new sorceress equipment!" her dad was practically skipping down the road with the other two awkwardly shuffling behind him. Elena's black combat boots clicked against the brick road as they moved down the busy path.
"Ah! Here we are!" once again her dad had led them to a small shop. "This store is dedicated to magic users like you, Lena!"he opened the door and they all filed in. It was creepy to say the least, many old wizards stared right through their souls and the things being sold were less than inviting. Of course Elena's dad didn't care-AT ALL. He made a bee-line to the front desk where he said, "Beginner's magic, please!" the old man behind the desk just slowly nodded and shuffled to where they needed to go. He stopped at a bookcase where he flipped it to reveal an open door to a completely different shop. It looked like a first grader wonderland-bright colors and children's books lined the walls. Elena cringed at the sight, she was certainly not a child! Her dad left the other two and ran throughout the store like a kid in a candy shop. When he came back he was holding three objects, a cage, a small box, and a long wrapped stick-thingy. "They're a surprise so don't open them until we get home, k?" he casually said. "When are we going home, dad?" Elena asked.
"That place is not our home."
