Elena found herself in a pristine white hallway, she quietly rushed towards a door that resided at the end of the hall. Then she heard a click - "Elena, come back now" Her breath hitched and she sprinted down the path absolutely carelessly, she had to get away! This dragon murdered her dad so who knows what he would do to her! Elena approached the door and shook the handle violently. "I was having such a good nap too..." now the voice was in real life and it was close behind her! She hovered over the doorknob and chanted the spell again. "Elena, ELENA STOP-" she shut the door in his face and heard the door return to it's normal, locked state.
She was in a large green field covered in flowers and trees. "ELENA! GET BACK HERE!" he kept yelling for her and soon she heard an explosion, he had turned back into a dragon. Elena bolted in the first direction that came to mind and searched for anyone who could help her get back home. FWOOSH! A loud noise flooded the air. Hesitantly, Elena raised her head and found a large white dragon in the sky flapping it's massive wings. "Holy guacamole on top of ravioli!!!!" Elena ran as far as her feet could take her but then decided to hide, if she was seen he could easily chase her and catch her. She crouched behind a thick tree and waited for him to pass. She sighed, "Freedom..."
Wandering through a forest was becoming more and more confusing. Elena grumbled, "Where am I anymore?" "H-Hello? Are y-you lost?" a small voice squeaked from behind her. "Oh thank goodness! Can you help me get home?" Elena turned to face them. A girl with long black hair and hazel eyes nodded to confirm. "Yup! I-I hope I c-can help b-but I don't k-know...I d-don't want t-to boast or a-anything..." Elena was shocked, "Boast? You're only helping me, I really appreciate it by the way!" The girl gave a weak smile in response, she was wearing a pink flower crown and a dress that looked like it was made of leaves and flowers.
"What's your name?" Elena questioned. "I'm E-Evelyn the forest p-pixie, I'm v-very weak s-so I w-wouldn't stick around m-me for v-very long..." "Hi Evelyn, may I ask what's the difference between fairies and pixies? I have a friend named Monica and she's a fairy. My name's Elena by the way!" "O-Of course! There a-are a lot m-more fairies in A-Areagore and they're a-a lot more social too...P-Pixies often g-guard nature and t-things like that. W-Where's your home, E-Elena?" she smiled a little and began to make her way closer to Elena. "Umm...it's by the palace...think Elena think...it's on the outskirts of the city the palace is in and it's a cottage..." she muttered. "That's e-enough f-for me!" Evelyn calmly exclaimed. She then guided Elena down a dirt path.
"Why w-were you a-all t-the way out here?" Evelyn asked. "I was...kidnapped, actually..." Evelyn gasped then covered her mouth, "Was t-that w-why that d-dragon flew b-by?" she whispered frantically. "Uh, yeah I guess so. Why? I thought that wouldn't really be strange in a place like Areagore." Elena exclaimed. "D-Do you know h-how r-rare dragons a-are? All of the ones that s-survived w-were b-banished s-so..." her voice trailed off. "So? So what?" Elena impatiently wondered. "No, n-not yet...I d-don't think y-you need t-to know a-about that E-Elena." Evelyn muttered shakily. That was when Elena noticed them- "OH MY GOSH SO CUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTEEE!" she exclaimed. "W-what?!" Evelyn panicked. "You have little wings!" Elena fangirled. Elena proceeded to poke and prod at her guide's wings. "U-Uhm, Elena? T-That k-kind of t-tickles...s-sorry! T-that came off r-really r-rude!" Evelyn was so jumpy! "No, I get it. Sorry!" Elena's unintentional tickle session came to a close.
After a long walk the duo found themselves walking past the palace. "Evelyn? Don't your feet hurt?" Elena asked. "W-Why would t-they? I-Is it b-because I'm b-barefoot, because I-" she was cut off by someone calling Elena's name. She looked up to see one of the castle's windows opened and King Aaron waving at her. "There you are! We've been worried sick about you! We thought you were assassinated or you really had left Areagore! Come inside, you can stay here tonight! It's super late already!" King Aaron called out. "Your Majesty, what time is it?" Elena responded. "Haha, three in the morning!" Elena stopped and panicked, shaking her friend beside her. "I'm not even close to my home!!" "Elena, I said you could stay here remember?" she then mentally facepalmed and walked into the palace.
After Elena told the other two the whole story King Aaron lead them to their rooms. "I see you've met a pixie, they're always so nice." King Aaron stated. "H-Honestly y-your highness, you d-don't have to h-have me o-over. I can j-just f-fly home." Evelyn stuttered. "But your home is like a tree covered in some leaves and I feel like you deserve at least one night on a real mattress! Besides, you helped my friend. You've earned it." King Aaron reassured her. "Thank you your majesty." Elena said as she headed to bed. "Goodnight Elena, I'm sure you'll sleep well knowing that you're safe at last!" King Aaron said as he let out a comforting chuckle.
