Elena's dad enchanted the bus to act as a portal. Besides making her dragon's egg hatch Elena was still new to really seeing magic in real life so she couldn't help but be completely amazed. "Pretty sweet ride, huh?" her dad totally ruined that moment for her. "Will this take us home?" Adbjorn asked. "Yep! A-Adbyourn? Why are dragon names so hard..." her dad mumbled that last part. "When are we leaving, pops?" Elena questioned. "Hmm, how about...now!" her dad didn't need a wand, he just waved his arm and the trio was in the bus that somehow fit into her still bubblewrapped basement. "Excelliar Totus Areagore!" the words easily slipped through her dad's mouth.
Swirling white electricity surged through the bus and the whole vehicle rattled with this new power. "Kiddos, you might wanna close your eyes-total epilepsy warning,"he laughed. Elena and her dragon merely squeezed their eyes shut and clung to the cheap leather seats for dear life. Even with her eyes shut Elena could tell millions of colors were swirling through their surroundings. Then everything came to a sudden halt-"We're home! Yahoo!" Elena's dad sounded extremely happy but Elena noticed that there were tears running down his face, he was probably thinking about mom, she concluded. "Hey, Ad-Adbyarn? Can I change your name? It's just hard for humans to pronounce," Elena was now facing her dragon who had a huge, dumb smile on his face. "Of course! I am your dragon, Elena," he said it as if it was obvious, "Thanks, I'll try to think of one." With that our trio left the magic school bus and entered this entirely new world.
Everything was very green and vast, Elena noticed that there wasn't anyone in sight. "Dad, where is everyone?" "The war...dang, it really was bad, huh?" he seemed to be talking to himself more than to his daughter. "Isn't there a town nearby?" Adbjorn asked. "Uh-yeah! We should be near Caravesen Plaza," he responded. Elena didn't know anything and couldn't help but feel completely lost. "Do you know where my family is?" Adbjorn was just full of questions today! "After the war dragons were recognized as a threat so they've been isolated into mountains, caves, oceans, and anywhere else viewed as a place the other races wouldn't go," Dad knew so much. "Hey Adb-um-Abdorn? Do you want something to eat?" Elena was going to finally experiment, she brought the book with her to feed her dragon. "Yes, I suppose I am hungry.." her dad was off admiring his old world so it was safe to go through with this. She handed him the Japanese dictionary and he quickly gobbled it up (rather messily and rude!), "A-ah! Sumimasen!" he looked flustered when he realized how rude he had acted. Elena broke down laughing, her dad walked up the two of them with the most confused face she had ever seen which made her laugh even harder. "Hi?" he asked, "KONICHIWA!" oh no she broke him...
It took forever to get him back to normal but now they were walking through the Caravesen Plaza and looking in all of the stores. There were wizards, elementals, vampires, and Elena swore that she saw a fairy buying giant high heels! People stared at them, they looked really out of place in their human attire. "First stop, the seamstress's!" her dad exclaimed as he tugged the other two through the streets. "Are we buying clothes to blend in?" Elena asked. "Duh! Everyone dresses in clothes that reflect their races here," her dad responded as he brought them to their destination. A large sign titled Magnificent, Magic Molly's Comfortable, Cool Clothes! greeted them.
