A/N: I think I'm going to end this story soon because HOLY COW WRITER'S BLOCK AND NOBODY IS EVEN READING THIS BOOK ANYMORE! Oh well, I really enjoyed this story so I'll try my best to keep it going for as long as I can. Sorry about being boring so I'll just get back to the story, I hope you have a good rest of your day~!
Azmend slowly opened his eyes and was met with Elena's face. Had he caught her watching him sleep? "A-Ah! I'm so sorry! Don't you normally turn back into a dragon when you sleep?" she managed to stutter. Azmend calmly sat up, "I didn't want to scare you."
She nodded, "I literally own a dragon...thanks though!" Elena sure was happy, after all she had been through too, it was hard to understand for Azmend. "Why do you want to find Cole? The real reason. You know he'll be fine, he's a dragon after all." he inquired.
"Well, you're right, I know he'll be fine but I just want to make sure. I want to bring him back to where he belongs safely." she answered. "Hmm...why?" Azmend continued, "Why would you want that?" Elena smiled, "I want him to be safe before I go, I want to see him one more time!" Azmend was utterly confused. "G-Go?" he repeated.
Elena stared at her feet and gave off a sorrowful and regretful feeling, "Home." He nodded, "Ah, I forgot you weren't from Areagore." Elena quickly changed back to being happy, "I've been practicing my grandmother's spell like crazy!" "I see..."
"We should get going then. You'll definitely see him again, I swear." Azmend smiled sadly, Elena giddily smiled again. "Thank you for helping me! You're a lot nicer when you're not trying to kill me, " she chuckled, "I like you much better like this!" Azmend laughed along with her, "Yes, you were kind to my brother so...I'm sorry, never mind what I said."
Elena responded, "It's okay, we're friends now! That means you can tell me anything. I'm kinda new to the whole friends thing but I've been liking it a lot more lately~" "Yeah..." Azmend stood up from the bench, "Let's find Cole now, then we can get you home...friend." Elena stood up with him, "Yep!"
Then their journey began, they wove through cities and towns all day. Elena sighed, "I don't think we'll ever find hiiim! Cole's so good at hiding, it's actually pretty surprising..." Azmend laughed, "Do you want another ride? Just don't fall asleep again okay?" Elena quickly nodded and they took to the skies.
Forests seemed to overlap and weave together, people were tiny and buildings shrunk with them. Something seemed to catch Azmend's eye and he stopped in his tracks. Elena tried to find what he was looking at but found that Azmend dove back to the ground. He landed abruptly and Elena rolled off of him.
She landed with a thud before she knew it Azmend was rushing to her and he quickly enveloped her into a hug, "I...I'm sorry...." Elena hugged back. "What? It's fine, but why did you-" "Y-You can't see him." he shakily but sternly cut her off.
He let go and looked her straight in the eye, "Promise me you won't see him. You can't see him." Elena shook her head and stood up, she dusted off her cloak."I have to. What are you talking about? You should support me and help me, we're friends now!" Elena pleaded.
Azmend's heart sunk, "It's not like that! I've helped you all I could and I'm helping you by keeping you back, I'm protecting you!" Elena sighed, "That....that doesn't make sense." Azmend sighed, "Such a childish thing to say...Do you trust me? I can tell you why but I don't think you'll like it."
She nodded, "Of course! Please, I need to know. I need to see him!" "Well...alright, Cole's the Dragon King. That's why we wanted him to join the Dragon Resistance so badly. He's must've gone back to the Dragon Kingdom and...and..." Elena reassured him, "Thank you, please continue."
He sighed heavily and tried to smile, "And they'll kill you. Dragons would never let you in there." Elena gasped, "No, no they wo-" He gripped her hand tightly, "M-My first friend...I can't let you..." "We can bargain I'm sure! We can just tell them that I'm friends with Cole!" Azmend stopped her, "Elena he's not stable, dragons don't control their emotions very well. I'm not sure if Cole will even be there to save you, there's layers and layers of guards out there."
