"I'm going to work mom!" I yelped as soon as I walked out the door of my small home. Our home was small enough for the four of us, me, my mom, step dad, and older sister. We were one small happy family. We never really complained about anything but to live life to our fullest. My mom believed, adored God so much that she forced me and my older siser -when we were small- to go with her. Now, I can't help but to take him everywhere with me. God is my life, my savior and without him, I am dust. Who ever dislikes him, I will make them understand what they are ignoring.
I do the sign of the cross before I drive out and head over to work. As soon as I park in front of the 'Employee's Only' parking, I couldn't help but to smile like a nitwit because I always wanted to station myself in a special place. Before getting out, I tighten my pony tail but too tightly that the elastic snapped. Groaning, saying no curse word, I try to look for a new one. No luck. I pulled my vasity and let long light brown hair fall on my shoulders.
I get out of my car and smell the most disturbing smell that I always hated ever since when I was a kid. Smoke. My dramatic cough made the person who was smoking this lung killer object chuckle. My eyes searched who was smoking this and saw it was a young guy, my age perhaps, blowing out the white smoky air at my direction. It made me cough more.
Not like I can stop him but I did see that he works at Sears with me. Now I know who to stay away from. Quickly, ignoring this man or young man, I happily walk away from the contaminated air to inhale life and the nature breeze. That is, until the two automatic doors from Sears slide open.
-Day One
Ah, my first day of my very first job. The manager and gorgeous boss revealed that I am the youngest working here because I am a very good student that knows how to keep up with my work. That's probably why I got this job. Plus, I have a good personality but I can be a bit timid. Though, my friends call me Ms. Goody-Two-Shoes which bothers me. Just because they assume I am a bore and always talk about the word of God. Also, before I can forget, they declare that I never have fun but instead they envision me a nun at church. I mean, I don't think I will go that far. Sometimes I do want to go out, have fun but I think it's a bit disrespectful to my parents. I'd like the taste of the bad sometimes but I think it's the evil pulling me towards it. So I reject and illuminate it from my head and thoughts.
As soon as I see my boss, my pretty young boss, Bonnie. She tells me my job for today will be folding all the clothes at the womens section, fix the shoe area, pick up any undergarments that are not left for display, fix the pillows and beds;and fix the men section. It was simple enough.
I began to walk over to the women section and searched for any clothing that needed any folding. While folding, I saw that co-worker from outside stroll by with his hands tucked deep down his pockets. Well, he thinks he's cool.
Ignoring him, I look back down and continue my folding. Then curiosity took me over to lay my eyes on that co-worker again. He began to walk around the shoe section then stopped. Quickly, my eyes dropped to the white polo I had in my hand. My sources tell me he is trouble, I just know it.
At least six customers asked me where were certain places and It made me happy that I gave them the exact direction. The commented that I was the kindest here, unlike a certain co-worker. I apologized from whoever it was behalf and debated whether to tell the boss about the complaint. I decided against it.
Casually walking to the shoe section, I began to fix any messy area which took me two hours to fix. More than my first station I worked in. Hey- It's work. The shoe area looked neat for once because I remember I always complained about it always being messy. I gave these people a favor. Off to my next section of my job.
The undergarments. Once I got there, it was sorta of empty but nothing really messy. A few panties on the floor here and there. My vision stopped at a certain bra that was huge and wondering who would where such thing! Anyways, I skip my way to my next stationary.
It was a long walk to the furniture section in Sears. I didn't mind. It was actually pretty peaceful working. But once I got to the furniture area, I saw someone sleeping there where it specifically states "NO SLEEPING". Wait a second! It's a co-worker and disobeying instructions! This must be the co-worker that perhaps acted rude towards our customers.
To be honest, I was sort of afraid to approach this co-worker. Yet, I took the courage in me as it can to push myself to let him know what he is doing wrong.
I couldn't see that co-workers face but it didn't really matter if I did. Gently, while saying "excuse me" a countless of times, I tapped him to wake up and him go to work.
"Could you please wake up, umm." Before I can say his name, I searched for his name tag. He didn't have it on. Smart guy I guess.
But I continued.
"Wake up please!" I say a little louder but one of the nicest tone.
"WAKE UP!" I could believe I screamed at this guy.
Quickly, he groans and turns to face me. He squint a bit and noticed his sleepy red eyes. From what I expected, I thought he would of cussed me out but he didn't. Instead, he took a look at me.
It was that co-worker I saw smoking. I knew he was bad; but from seeing him closed up, he was a good-looking guy I must admitt. The main thing I noticed was his green bright eyes. Wow, I never seen such beautiful green eyes that duplicates mine. But he had to be that co-worker.
Before I knew it, he jumped off the bed and left my stationary. Well that was out the ordinary. He said no word. From his appearance, I thought he'd hit me with insults and curse words but surprisingly did'nt. I ignored it though.
Next was the men's section, it was the nicest organized place from what I have seen so far. Perhaps someone cleaned it already. Though, I walked around to revise if everything was tidy, but everything seem in order and well put.
That is until I saw that co-worker clean the men's side. I thought it was my job. Slowly, I debated to tell him but he looked scary. So again, I just left it. I walked around to see if there was anything else I can do.
So far, Day one, was quite amazing! Other than the fact that that co-worker scares me. It came to an end and began to head over to my car in the special exit that says, 'Employees Only' again, I smiled like a fool. It was chilly night, nice and breezy. Clear sky with the ultimate stars above me. I inhaled the nice night air as my lungs expand that nice - suddenly I began to cough. The horrible lung killer object came back to haunt me. Better yet, that co-worker who was blowing it was at the same place, puffing out the white smoke from his mouth. It was disgusting.
Again, I began to dramatically cough and walk away from him. His chuckle once again mocked me. I turned to see him and he already had the cigarrette off his lips and it seems he finished since he twisted his foot on the concrete floor. His green beautiful eyes settled on me but looked away seconds after.
Who the heck is he?
