Chapter Sixty-Eight

I was well aware of what is going on right now, completely aware actually. This is their first time they saw me with a girl, laugh, and kiss? I looked around but they didn't keep eye contact too long, but continued to work although they glanced every second.
"We should start working." I twist at her direction. "Mary, come on." She began to walk with worry in her face, and brought her to a halt.
"It's nothing, Mary." I set my hand on her shoulder. "Every little thing is going to be alright-" I sang a little tune of song I have heard once before in plenty of movies. It made Darcy laugh at my childish move, and nodded at me diligently.
"We should." She nodded, and right before I turned, "And Harry!"
"Yes?"
"Can you please stop being rude? Be nice to customers." She laughed then turned to another direction.
So I went off to the place I needed to work, which was the make-up/accessories place because I had to take over the cash register. When I arrived, the lady who was in the cash register was taking out the change out in the quickness, counting the money, and setting it on the customers hand then slid the change, saying "with 41 cents! Have a nice day!" She rips the receipt, throwing it inside the bag of the customers purchase.
She turns and smiles, obviously she knew I was taking over, and moved over to collect her things. Clarissa, I read the name tag, she walks passed me, leaving me to work the cash register. I've only used this twice in my life, but I see why Bonnie put me here - so I can talk.
I signal the next person in line, who was a girl in Darcy's age, perhaps younger, she set her things on the counter. I widen my eyes, this is a lot of fucking make-up! One by one, I scanned her things. In the computer, it read: "$72.39"
"That will be $72.39." I force myself to speak.
"Excuse me?" Said the girl.
"That will be $72.39." I repeat more nicely.
"Oh, I'm sorry." The girl smiles, slipping out a bill of one hundred dollars.
I take the money, lift it in the air and approve that it is real money. The soon as I slip it in, the computer screen flashed $27.61 for return. So, when I mirror what [Clarissa] has done a little while ago, I count the money, setting it on the girls hand, slipping the change on her hand. The different thing about what Clarissa and I did, I actually didn't say "Have a nice day!" Just said their change and asked for the next customer.
There were rude costumers who came up, there were flirty girls, and their were shy people who I saw when I was in the cash register. It wasn't a bad stationary to be at honestly. As for the rude people, I managed to steady my self from hurting them.
"Doing good?" Said a random co-worker who was a female that I never spoke to.
I turn and look at her but I didn't reply but focus on my work. She coughed behind me, and heard her distant footsteps fade away.
The register was ghostly for a moment, I leaned on the counter, hands resting just under my chin, seeing Darcy from afar. She was hanging up the dresses on the top of wall, fucking Bonnie - she had to give her the hard jobs.
"Oh you work here!" Chirped a voice, setting her new make-up on the counter for me to charge. "Nice." She giggles, taking out her wallet the looked concerned. "Harry?"
"You scared me again." I tell her, and scan her things. "Can you not?"
"Sorry." She looks up then back down as if she was looking for something in her wallet. "I guess you can call me, Boo." Remi hands me her credit card, like a spoiled daddy's girl.
