Chapter Twenty-Five

* D a r c y *

"Excuse me?" I said, hearing him clear the first time but just has to ask again.

"That is Melanie." He smiled.

By the look of his smile, I knew. This girl meant so much for him, like he would do anything for her. Melanie is her name, the girl who had so much impact in his life. Harry smiled so brightly, and I thought, I have never seen such person mean so much for the other because his whole face was literally beaming with happiness.

Then that is when I saw it.

His smile with his teeth on display, like in the picture before the one he is currently looking at. My breath was taken upon. Finally, I saw him smile for the first time.

"You are so weird." I silently tell him still admiring his gorgeous smile. It was an upseting to watch it switch in an instant.

"What?" He frowns.

"Not in a mean matter." I defend. "It's funny how your mood changes."

"Oh." He replies then smiles again. "I mean, it is Melanie."

"Who is this, Melanie?" I asked, so eager to know.

"A girl, with dark brown long beautiful hair. A girl, with a happy smile everyday. A girl, with a positive mind and attitude. A girl, who is loving, and loving towards me. A girl, who never gave up. A girl, who looked after people, who put them after herself. That girl was innocent. That girl didn't deserve such disease. I speak of this girl, Melanie Sykes."

Long brown hair, positive attitude, loving person, and innocent. It reminded me of myself. My vision caught Harry smiling towards the photograph of their lip lock.

"What happen to her?"

Harry turn to me, slowly fading his smile away. I was almost upset to see him frown when his contact turned to me.

"She was my girlfriend." He began. "Childhood best friend."

What is so bad about that? He says he is a bad boy but seeing him now, I just see the angel I dreamt in my head. That white beautiful angel glistening in white. Harry, the mysterious co-worker is slowly opening.

"But, what happened to her?" I asked again.

"Cancer." He shrugged. "I fucking loved her."

Love; a beautiful word yet the hardest thing to actually endure, to comprehend, and to feel. The definition is there, but is it the exact?

Harry,  sounds like he loved this girl. She was taken away by the horrible main death cause, and the name of that cause is cancer.

"I'm sorry." Is all I can say. "So, let's be happy." I cheer him up, but he didn't cease.

"All done." Anne's steps in. "Looking at Melanie again, son?" She rubs his shoulder. "It's fine, you can do this."

For my surprise, he must really REALLY loved her. There no one who can replace her, no one he may not want to let in. Is that why he didn't want to speak to anyone? He remained mute for so long for, Melanie?

"I told Mary about it." He turns to me.

"Mary?" She unsurly replied.

"He means me." I step in and she turns to face me with confusion.

"You told her about, Melanie?" She almost sounded happy about this.

"Yeah." He faced his mother. "Not all of it."

"Oh." She nodded then smiled at me. "Melanie was a lovely girl, she reminds me of you."

My stomach suddenly dropped. That must be something Harry should argue about, something he should want to disagree about, but he stood there looking at his delighted mother. His sight charged towards me again.

"She doesn't." Oh there is Harry. "Melanie was different."

"Come, let's eat." Anne changed the subject. "Made some Sunday Roast."

Harry in the end of the table and I in the opposite while Anne was sitting next to me. The dinner was somthing new, but delicious. Bite after bite, Harry looked at  me.

"Choir is your passion." He said.

"Oh, yes." I expressed in the most happiest mood. "Anne, you said you are a singer?"

"My middle and high school years I was a choir singer. My, what a beautiful subject." Anne looked up as if she was picturing it in her head now.

My hand took a strand of my hair, putting it on behind my ear. Slightly slipping, I reputting it and look at Harry. His eyes were already settles on me. Which made me redden. Again, my hair fell to my face, making me feel even more red.

"Anne." I squeeze my eyes as I turn. "Please, excuse me, but can I use your bathroom?"

"Of course!" She notices my change of color and giggles a bit. "Down that hall and take a right."

Quickly, I get up and walk quickly to the restroom. The minuet I get there, I look at my face. My mouth opens wide by how red I was, why did I get so red? I groaned and splashed water to my face. Taking a nice deep breath, I cool down before I go out again.

I twist the handle and see Harry standing with a smirk. He pushed me inside the restroom again, hearing the lock behind him. My heart became aduible to my ears, and I took steps back until my bottom hit his counters.

His hand took my wrist, pulling me closer to him again. He bites his lips and smirks again, closing his body to mine. He turns me around and placed me against the wall. He chuckles slightly against my ear while his hands sit on the side of my hips.

"Harry!" I gasp and my hands settle on his broad chest.

"What?" He smirks.

"What are you doing? Why are you doing this? You know I can't do this to me, you just can't." I panic.

"Enjoy it, Mary." Harry whispered.

"Harry, I am not sexual." I wince when I feel his next to my ear.

"Stop seeing him, Mary." He groans. "Stop, he is no good."

"What are you talking about?" I try to push him off.

"Jason, do not speak to him." Harry made eye lever contact. "Promise me that."

My vison was stuck on his eyes, but my head was stuck on my words. Harry is beyond mysterious, very bi pola. From happy, mad, to seducing. Now, threatening? Since the beginning, I asked, Who is he?
