Chapter Seventy-Six

Darcy and I finally stopped at our bench we always sit in, sitting like failures. My hand brushed against my thick hair, sighing and looking out in the evening sky.
"All these shops have no hiring jobs." Darcy says in disbelief obviously showing her feisty side. "Probably people here work there." She sighs. "You can take the job at the Tea Shop."
"What? No."
"Come on." She set her small hand behind my back, rubbing it a little already make me want to get close to her.
My body shifted towards hers, and made myself comfortable onto her shoulder and snuggled. Yes, on that bench I snuggled. My hand was hesitant to wrap around her mid stomach since my head laid on her shoulder, only to make myself hold her closer. I decided against it and only laid my head on her shoulder alone, turning my body a little to make myself not look too awkwardly positioned.
Her small hand touched my hair, making my eyes close by the electric feel that spread like wildfire. She brushed against my curls, and each time she did, I got goosebumps.
"I'll get lucky somewhere else." She continues to groom my curls. "Please, for me?"
"Baby." I whisper. "You and Lenina are good mates, how about you?"
"Well, I asked Libby about our job hunting all week. She got me one." She answered slightly unconfident.
"What do you mean she got you one? How could she-"
"I mean," She raised my head with his palm in the most gentle ways. "I only went to you can get a chance."
"That doesn't make sense, Mary." I begin to get angry but then take a deep breath because honestly we haven't been in one argument in this ten month relationship. "Okay." I take another breath.
"I know it was really selfish of me. But don't get me wrong," She holds my hand. "I wanted to find a job where they can both accept us in before accepting Libby's offer plus I am more closer to her than Lenina." Darcy scoots in a little closer as she spoke so fast, saving her mistake and kissing my hand every now and then. "I'm sorry, I am truly so sorry." Her lips met mine, kissing them quickly and I laugh.
"Fine." I laugh a little more. "I'll work at the Tea Shop but promise me you will think of me when," I paused. "Where will you work at?"
"At Jerry's Pizzeria." She slightly laughs, but then I wanted to ask about the uniform color because of that fucking American bonding with her a few weeks ago. I laugh at my thoughts, why would I really ask that? There are millions of pizzerias in this place. In relief we end the conversation about working there.
"It's getting late, I have to study." Darcy sighed since it was Tuesday. "A pop quiz in my math class tomorrow, yay." She uses sarcasm in her voice.
"I am just naturally smart." I show off, earning a scoff from her.
"I envy you." She stands, and waits for me to stand then laughs.
With a small smile, the whole world has become slow motioned and peaceful. She is the reason why my smile was always in place., Why my muscles relax, and emotion never falls in disaster like it has in the past. Her vibe is always allegro, and always never angry. She was Darcy, whom I call Mary, my beautiful Mary. I take another look at her figure, still she was smiling down at me, then took groomed her fingers through her hair while she closed her eyes a little. I felt myself get a little excited by her expression obviously thinking the negative. My mind shakes it off, and gives a signal to my legs to stand.
