Chapter Nine

*  D a r c y *

I came extra early to work to avoid That Co-Workers poisoning object that kills millions by puffs a day. Cigarettes. That was my plan but turns out I sat in my car waiting for him. To thank him before he puffs that cigarette to his lungs misery. I saw his car pull in five minutes later and quickly I jump out of mine, making both of us walk out in the same time.

"Ay!" I scream.

His body stops but doesn't turn. It took me seconds to arrive in back of him. Talking a breath, closing my eyes, I grab his back and smile.

"Thank You." My voice mellowly told him.

I can't see how he reacted by my nice comment but hopefully he speaks to me again. Since yesterday I can't seem to remember how it actually is. He lightly ts-ks and turns to look at me blankly.

"Please say something." I gulp and felt uneasy by his unexpessional look. "Please."

He didn't speak but disconnected our eye contact and pushed himself to get through then stopped again. He turned to face me with a different look. A look that was almost deceiving.

The grip of his two large hand were pressed down in my shoulders. My eyes widen once my back feels the solid concrete wall of Sears. That Co-Worker pushed me against the wall. My chest rose and fell. More rapidly when his curls tickled next to my cheek. My breathing was normal but what was he doing?

"Shhhh." He shushed and stepped aside to head inside.

Nothing I can do but to balance myself. No one has made me feel weak, heart beat, and especially feel uneasy. That Co-Worker is overly mysterious now.

-Day Seven (working)

Once I walked in, I was told to clean the restrooms, the furniture area, men section, and look for any mess. I get to leave early today because it was Saturday, which in fact I am glad for.

"Darcy!" Someone recalled, I bet it was Jabby.

"Look I am sorry." She frowns.

"I know you are." I agree and she looks down.

"My friends can be a douches." She began to explain but, I stop her.

"I don't care. Only if I am far away from them and that place, I'm good." Jabby looks up and nods.

"I am sorry." She apologizes again.

"Thank you for apologizing." I smile and walk to my station.

"Darce." She pulls me back. "I was only jealous."

"Of what?" I squint in confusion.

"I think..." She nervously laughs then takes a strand of her wavy hair out of her face, "I think he likes you." It seems like she forced herself to confess it. That co-worker can't like me. I know he can't because I will never consider it.

The memory of that co-worker flashed in my head. What happen when I fainted? It was all a blur. What happen this morning in the back? Did that really happen? He saved me from be crushed by that bus. Did signify my white angel dream? He pushed me against the wall and shushed me. What did that mean?

Talking about him, he was walking towards our direction. Towards my direction. His rules, what will happen if I didn't move out of his way?

"Darcy, move." Jabby yanked me but I remained stiff.

"I want to see what will happen." I stay then I heard screeching and screaming.
