Chapter 5

KATNISS POV

"Hi Peeta" I say

He looks up from his phone and smiles

"Hey" he says and gives me a hug

We get in the car and drive to the meadow. I ask the question that has been bugging me all day "Peeta what are we? I mean we have been seeing each other for 4 days now?" I ask. He looks confused "what do you mean?" He says keeping his eyes on the road "I mean like couple,friends you know" he smiles and looks at me "what do you want to be?" "I'd like to be your girlfriend" I say quietly "what's that" Peeta teases "you heard me" I say blushing slightly "no honestly I didn't" he says with a huge grin on his face "i would like to be your girlfriend" I say louder "what's that?" He says "OMG I WOULD LIKE TO BE YOUR GIRLFRIEND!" I yell "you don't need to yell and I would love you to be my girlfriend" he says and we laugh.

He pulls to a stop out side the meadow.

We walk to my special tree and sit down, I lay my head in Peeta lap and play with a flower I found, while he plays with my hair.

I sit up and turn to Peeta " Prim really like you you know" I say he chuckles and kisses my nose "no really she kept asking questions about you and me and she kept smirking at me every time I walked in the room" I say "what kind of questions?" He asks I turn red and he laughs "just stuff" I say he laughs and leans in to kiss me. I meet him half way and kiss him back.

We kiss for a while until it's 6:20 and he drives me home. When I get out of the car I kiss him and say good bye "see you tomorrow" I call out before he leaves.

When I walk in the door I see prim and my mother making spaghetti and meatballs "hey Katniss where have you been" prim asks me walking over to give me a hug "the meadow" I say and sit down at the dinner table "oh who with" prim asks with a cheeky smirk "someone" I say avoiding her gaze "Peeta?" She says which makes me blush "maybe" "awwww" she say and sits down opposite me.

We eat our spaghetti and meatballs. Prim asks questions but I just wave it off. When we finish I go and wash the dishes with Prim. I look down at her and see she has a huge cheeky grin on the face "what now" I say drying the last plate and handing it to her "I just never thought you would date anyone" she says I smile and give her a hug.

Prim goes to watch television and I grab my phone and headphone and sit beside her listening to my music and half watching the tv. I'm listening to 'Roar' by Katy Perry when I get a text from Peeta

"Hi was just wondering if you wanted a lift in the morning. love you xx -P"

I smile and my mother and prim notice

"What's that" Prim says pointing to my phone "o nothing just a text" "from Peeta" she says smiling at my mum who is also smiling "WHAT no I mean maybe I don't know" "it is isn't it Katniss you are the worst liar" says my mother "gee thanks for the help mum" I say sarcastically. While I'm making faces at my mum Prim snatches my Phone "PRIM!!" I yell. It it's too late she is scrolling through the texts her eyes widening with every swipe she finally get the the end and burst into laughter "stop no that's mine" I say trying to get my phone back "you have to see this!" She says and throws my new I phone 5 to my mum "WHAT THE HELL THATS NEW" thankfully my mother catches it but reads the messages and begins laughing as well "what's so funny?!?" I say half yelling " you guys are so cheesy" prim laughs "and no wonder your getting higher grades you keep asking Peeta to help you!" My mother laughs "ugh" I grunt and pick up my phone and go up to my bedroom.

I text Peeta back "really? Sounds great thanks love you too Xxx -K"

I quickly put on my pj's and fall asleep.
