Chapter 29

CATO POV

When me and Clove broke up I felt terrible Lucy threatened me to date her because I was one of the 'hottest guys in school'. I walk down Annie's street back to my house when I see Annie and Clove turn the corner. I jog up to Clove and ask to talk "fine" she huffs and we walk towards the end of the street, she crosses her arms over her chest "what?" She asks a bit rudely "can you let me explain?" I say "fine" she says and brushes the hair off her face "I only dated Lucy because she said she would hurt you and I didn't want you getting hurt" I say "then why did you cheat on me and not tell" she says "I didn't want you getting hurt" I say "well you should of told me"she yells "I love you to much I couldn't let it" I blurt out, she looks at me and then hugs me " I'm sorry I should have let you explain but you should have told me" she says breaking away "so are we ok" I ask "yeah" she says and runs off back to Annie, I sigh and keep walking home.

KATNISS POV

Clove and Annie walk back to Annie's house and the rest leave, me and Peeta stay for a bit longer and then walk walk back to his house. When we get there I see a note on the table

Going to the city will be out tonight and tomorrow. Dinner in fridge ~Dad

Peeta reads it and puts it down again, I'm a little hungry and so is Peeta but who can blame us we have been at the beach ALL day. I sit on a stool while Peeta grabs some food, Rye and Andrew come down and smile "I'm going camping with some friends so I'll see you on Wednesday" Andrew say "and I'm going to a club" Rye says "ok" Peeta says not looking at them, they walk out the door but Rye yells something before the door shuts "don't get to rowdy" he yells and the door slams shut. I blush and Peeta sighs. We eat dinner which is spaghetti and pasta, it's really good.

When we finish me and Peeta sit on the couch and watch TV, I rest my head on his shoulder shoulder and he brings me closer to him. After a hour of flicking through channels Peeta turns the TV off "what do you want to do?" He asks " I don't know" I'm actually really tired and Peeta picks up on that "let's get changed and then decide" he says and we walk up stairs. I get changed quickly in the bathroom and walk back to Peeta's room, I see him opening the window slightly and turn around. I feel my eyes drooping but I try keep awake because it's only 9:15, I grab the door frame for support and Peeta looks at me, he smiles and walks over to me and picks me up, I rest my head on his shoulder, he lays me down on the bed and tucks me in. I feel my eye lids close and he slide in next to me. He pulls me closer and wraps his arms around me, I cuddle into his chest and fall into a peaceful sleep.

When I wake up I realise it's 9:45 wow we slept in, I look up and see Peeta looking down at me, he brushes the hair off my face and smiles "no nightmares" he says "nope none" I say and lean up to him, he leans down and we kiss, we break away for air and Peeta gets up. I go to get up as well but he pushes me back down "no you wait here I'm going to make you breakfast" he says, I smile. And he walks out, I see in the mirror that my hair is a bit off a mess so I take it out of its braid and brush it, I lye back down onto the bed and pull the covers up to my chin. After about 10 minutes Peeta comes back in with a plate of food, I look at it and see pancakes, yogurt, juice, toast, and an egg. I smile at him "thanks Peeta" I say and kiss his cheek, he smiles "I'll be right back" he says and walks down stairs, he comes back with the exact same tray as I did and we eat together

"Peeta why did you choose me out of all the girls at school, I mean you could have anyone" I say and take a bite of my toast.

He looks at me and smiles "well your incredibly beautiful and funny and I just knew I was a goner when I first saw you" he says, I smile and he smiles back. I lean in and kiss him, it's passionate and sweet and it leaves me wanting more. We keep kissing until we are out of breath, I see that it's 10:30 "wow" I exclaim, Peeta chuckles, he grabs the trays and walks down stairs. I follow him and we was the plates and glasses "do you want to have a shower?" He asks I smile "ok" I run up stairs and grab some shorts and a tank top, I quickly wash my hair. When I hop out I get dressed and walk back to Peeta's room, he sees me and smiles.

I look at him and lean on the door frame "what" I say cheekily "your so beautiful" he says and smiles, I smile and he gets up and hugs me "I'm so lucky to have you" he whispers in my ear, I lean up and whisper "no I'm lucky to have you" he chuckles and begins to talk but I cut him off by kissing him, I wrap my arms around his neck and he puts his hand on my cheek. We break away when something hits Peeta's window. We walk over and see Finnick standing below the window.

"Hey love birds!" He yells "what are you doing!" I yell back "Annie and Clove need help setting up the girls party she needs you guys to help" he yells "why me?!" Peeta yells "change of plans the guys and girls are all staying at Annie's and oh Cato's coming" "ok we'll be there soon" I yell and shut the window.

"why is Cato coming?" I ask "he finally got away from Lucy and told us that she threatened to hurt Clove if he didn't go out with her" "then why was he such a jerk when they talked?" I ask "he was angry and annoyed and lost his temper, he's Cato remember" I frown and Peeta brings me into a hug "you know I'll never leave you" he says, I look up at him and smile "good I won't either" he smiles and I kiss him again, we break away because I remember we have to go and help Annie and Clove. "I need to go home and get some fresh clothes for the party" I say to Peeta "I'll drive you home and then we'll go to Annie's" he says, I smile "thanks Peeta"

We get in the car and drive to my house, I run upstairs and grab some fresh clothes and my bikini because Annie has a pool. I run back down stairs and tell my mum and Prim what's happening, they smile and I go back to Peeta. We drive to Annie's and knock on the door, Clove answers and gives me a hug "hey Clove!" I say, she smiles "Peeta Finnick's out in the backyard" she says, Peeta gives me a quick kiss and goes to help Fin.

I help Annie and Clove set up the food and get everything ready "so who's coming?" I ask putting some cups on a table "umm Me You Clove Peeta Fin Jo Marvel and umm Cato" annie answers, I look at Clove and but she avoids my gaze "Cato is coming" she says slowly "ok" I say quietly "are you back together?" I ask timidly "not exactly but he apologised and told me what happened and we decided to be friends and see where that takes us" she says looking up at me, I can't help it but I start giggling and hug her, Annie start laughing and so does Clove "I knew you two still loved each other" I yell, she hugs me back and I let go "sorry" I say quietly and Clove and Annie start laughing. Annie only wanted a small party so Marvel picked up Jo and Madge and came, after about 10 minutes of waiting we hear the door bell ring, Peeta gets it and comes back with Cato behind him
