Chapter 10

ANNIE POV


Me and Finnick walk down to the beach, we are the first ones there even though we are early. I decided to wear my green bikini because it's my favourite and Finnick is wearing his red board shorts.

After about 5 minutes I see Katniss and Peeta walking towards us, I get up and hug Katniss while Peeta talks to Finnick "great idea coming to the beach" I say "yeah. Me and Peeta had nothing to do and it's getting warm" she say we set our towels down and wait for Clove,Cato,Marvel,Johanna,Madge and Glimmer. After about 5 minutes everyone is here.

All the girls hug, guys start playing beach cricket. While us girls soak up the sun. After about 10 minutes we realise the guys have stopped playing cricket and have disappeared, me and Katniss get worried and sit up. But before we can react Finnick lifts me up, Peeta lifts Katniss and Cato lifts Clove and they throw us into the water. We come up and see all the guys trying to lift Johanna, Madge and Glimmer up. Glimmer and Madge where easy but Johanna won't let them until Finnick Grabs her arms and Peeta grabs her legs and they throw her into the water, all us girls start laughing like crazy at how angry Johanna is.

We just swim around until Finnick comes up to me and lifts me onto his shoulders i see Peeta do the same to Katniss and Cato do the same to Clove Madge also get on top of Glimmers shoulders. We all start trying to push each other off it's really funny because the girls can't stop laughing but the guys are dead serious about winning finally Cato and Clove win and we all go back to shore. I sit down on the hot sand and wrap my towel around me so does Katniss. It's actually pretty cold out of the water. Some the guys went off to get fish and chips because it's close to dinner time.

I see Peeta give a shivering Katniss his jumper and sit down next to her

I elbow the girls and point to them they all "awwww" even Johanna and we keep watching.


KATNISS POV


It's really cold out of the water I'm shaking like a leaf. I see Peeta come over and give me his jumper "t-t-thank y-y-you" I say her puts it over my head and I immediately feel warm "no problem" he says and sits down next to me. I lean my head on his shoulder and he wraps his arm around me.

"Today was so amazing" he says "yeah it really was" "Peeta how are you not cold I mean look at me I'm shaking like a leaf and all you have on is a thin t-shirt" I ask "I don't know I just don't feel the cold" he says and shrugs. After about 20 minutes the guys return with some fish and chips. I eat 2 pieces of small battered fish and some chips. It makes me feel warmer, by the time everyone finishes it's about 8 o clock "wow today went fast" I say to Peeta "yeah" he says looking at the sky


"we better get going your family probably wants you back" I say to Peeta "nah they won't my brothers hate me and my moms abusive" he says I don't know how to react. I've seen Peeta with bruises and cuts but I just thought they where from him mucking around being a guy and stuff.
"why would they hate you nobody can hate you, you are the nicest kindest gentlest guy I have ever met" I say looking into his big blue eyes "my mum thinks I'm useless" he says looking into my eyes "what about your dad" I ask "yeah he is the only nice one he usually takes my side and he never hits me" "I'm so sorry Peeta I never knew" I say feeling bad "no it's ok" he says and we walk to my house to grab his bag.

"Come on I'll drive you home" I say and we get in the car. In about 10 minutes we are at his house "bye love you" I say as he hops out "see you tomorrow" he says and I drive back home, feeling empty without Peeta next to me. I finally fall asleep after 2 hours of tossing and turning
