Chapter 13

PRIM POV

It's been two days since rue was beaten, I feel really bad she didn't come to school of corse, I texted her and she said she had a minor concussion and bad bruises. She isn't coming to school this week though, so I feel kind of lonely I have other friends just no one like Rue.

Also it's been 4 days since I walked in on Peeta and Katniss making out, it's really awkward and I keep blushing when I think of it, when Peeta talks it's all I think about, and I know Katniss knows this is how I feel. I decided to talk to Her, it's going to be weird but at least it will make thing less awkward. I learnt to knock after that "come in" she yells "hey Katniss can I talk to you" I say she pulls her headphones off and pats her bed "sure what's up" she says. I sit up onto her bed and cross my legs "well things have been kind of awkward since I walked in on you and Peeta" I start "did you tell mum" she asks looking worried "no but I wanted to talk to you because it's been awkward ever since" I say I see that she is relieved and she loosen up "ok I'm sorry but you need to knock next time"'she says looking down at her hands "yeah I know I'm sorry" I say "it's ok" she says and hugs me " how is Peeta?" I ask I have always liked Peeta's dad he gives me cookies when I go into the bakery "well he's ok but I saw Delly kiss him-" she say "o I'm sorry Katniss" I interrupt her "no it's alright she kissed him and he got mad at her and apologised and we are all good now" she says with a smile "ok because I like Peeta and his dad they give me cookies" I say she laughs "it's 9:45 I'm gonna go to sleep I'll see you in the morning" she says "ok goodnight" I say and hug her and leave. I put my pyjamas and brush my teeth and go to bed.

KATNISS POV

Prim wanted to talk about when she saw me and Peeta making out, it was awkward at first but then she apologised and it was all good. Peeta has apologised so many times about Delly but I don't mind anymore he hates her and so do I.

I wake up and have a shower, I put my hair in a high pony tail and put some short shorts on and a t-shirt, I bring a cardigan just in case it cools down. I go down stairs and see Prim and my mother eating toast "hi" I say and eat some toast too. It's unusually quiet and prim has a guilty look on her face "ummm have I missed something?" I ask. my mother looks at me suspiciously "no nothing" she says "why is it so quiet" I ask them "Prim told me about Peeta" my mother says "sorry" prim whisper "what about him he's fine" I say trying to act natural "hmmm" my mother looks at me.

She doesn't like me and Prim keeping secrets and she can crack anyone. "Look Katniss you have a boyfriend and you love him and you may-" ewww I don't want to get the talk especially when Prim's here "I get the point see you later I'm going to school" I grab my stuff and walk out into the warm air. I'm walking down the street when Annie and Clove. Catch up to me "hey Kat" Clove says "hey" I say "Fin's party is tomorrow I can't wait" I say "yeah it's gonna be awesome just us" Annie says "so what's been happening" Annie says "omg I got detention yesterday for talking back to Ms Trinket she thought I was texting but I was writing a reminder on my hand and I had to stay back" Clove complains we just laugh. We get to school yard and Peeta picks me up and spins me around. I start laughing hysterically "Peeta put me down!" I yell everyone starts laughing "why are you so happy" "I don't know I'm just so happy to have you" he says and put me down and kisses me. I put my hand on his chest and he pulls me closer.

We break away when the bell rings for class I have gym first with all my friends. The guys and the girls go our separate ways to get changed. We put on our gym gear which is short black running shorts and singlets. I walk out with Annie and Clove, we wait for coaches Brutus and Enobaria "ok class let's have a vote, hands up for Basketball" Most of the guys and some of the sporty girls put there hands up "and hands up for dodgeball" everyone else puts there hand up 'Dang' "dodge ball it is" he says Brutus put us on team based on height.

I'm small so I'm with the small kids, I'm with Clove,Annie and Madge. We start playing, I get out Stanley the guy Peeta says has a crush on me and another guy. Soon it's just me against Fin,Peeta,Marvel and another guy. I get Marvel out easily, the guy throws it at me but I catch it and he goes out, I look at Annie and she knows what I mean and she call out to Finnick "hey Finny" she call he look at her and blows her a kiss and I hit him on his arm "Hey cheaters" he yells and storms off the court. Peeta throws it at me but I dodge it,I throw it at him and it hits him on his chest "YAYAYAYAYAYAY WE WON" I yell and all the girls lift me up and cheer.

We settle down and Brutus tells us to do what ever we want. Peeta comes over to me and kisses my cheek "you know I let you win" he says with a smirk "yeah right" "true" he says and smile "no way I'm just too fabulous" I say he laughs and we walk over the the basketball rings. Me and Peeta start shooting and Finnick and Johanna come over "can we play?" Fin asks "sure" Peeta says and hands him the ball Finnick shoot from the three point line and get nothing but net "swish!" He yells and we start laughing Johanna shoots and just misses "damn" she says and rebounds it and shoots again "that's better" she says and walk over to me.

We start playing a game if you miss and the next person scores you have to do what ever they say Finnick goes first and gets it in "haha" I tease him Johanna shoots but misses "fudge!" She says. I know what she means Peeta shoots and gets nothing but net "ok start pole dancing on that pole" Peeta says and points the the pole "I hate you" she says and goes and starts dancing, a few people look but then turn away. She comes back and flicks Peeta on the side of his head "owww" he complains like a little kid. Me and Johanna start laughing "hurry up and shoot so I can dare you" Finnick yells.

I shoot and it bounces around the ring a few times before it rolls in "HA-HA" I yell and point at Fin, everyone laugh Fin shoots and misses only just "o crap" he says and looks at Johanna who has an evil smile on her face she shoots and gets it in "alright pretty boy, give Peeta a piggy back and run around the gym" she says Fin looks at Peeta and Peeta gives Johanna a death glare "pay back" she says and me and Johanna start laughing as fin runs around with Peeta on his back. Fin gets back and yells "GOD PEETA LAY OFF THOSE CHEESE BUNS" Me and Johanna burst into laughter and are on the grounds clutching our stomachs and laughing our heads off. Peeta pulls me up and kisses me, while I'm kissing him someone grabs my waist and I'm lifted onto Finnick's shoulders "fin put me down!" I yell while laughing "no way all of us had to do something now you do" he says and runs around with me on his shoulders. Finally the bell rings and we go and get changed.

Finally the bell rings to signal the end of the day I spring out of my seat and run to my locker to get my bag, I quickly run and get my bag and wait for Peeta by his locker. While I'm waiting I sit on the bench, soon everyone comes out and I see Peeta and walk over to him "hi" I say "hey beautiful" he says and kisses my cheek "excited for fins party" he whispers "yeah can't wait" I say we walk towards the door and go see our group of friends. Me and Peeta walk over and start talking when I realise I forgot my book I run back into the building and search my locker until I find my books.

I start walking back down the hall when Delly and some of the other cheerleaders push me against the wall and punch me in the stomach "what are you doing!" I say trying to break free "no way katpiss you can't date one of the hottest guys and get away with nothing" one of them says "please let me go" I say pleading because they have lifted me up and I'm no longer touching the group. Delly goes to punch me in the face but something or someone stops her and everything goes black.
