Chapter 26

PEETA POV

Finally it's Friday, I get up and have a quick shower, I pick out some shorts and a green Nike t-shirt. I go down stairs and see my father with a stern look on his face

"hey dad" I say and grab a cheese bun "son, your mother and I are getting divorced" I look to see if he's joking but he's not, just then Rye runs into the room "ARE YOU AND MUM GETTING DIVORCED?" He yells " yes now don't be to ups-" "WOOOOHOOOO" Rye screams and starts dancing "NO MORE MUM" I smile and Andrew comes down stairs "ugh will you shut up Rye! And what happens to your nose Peet" He asks "mum" I answer "is that why your getting divorced?" He asks dad "yes it's gone on long enough and I'm sick of your mother treating us like crap and I know why she keeps going away" he says how and what where has she been going?" I ask"she's been having an affair" he says and looks down "oh I'm sorry, have you talked to her about all of this?" I say "no but my lawyer got me the papers I just need her to sign" he says "but what if she doesn't?" Andrew asks "Oh she will I told my lawyer all about the abuse" he says "I better get going see ya" I say and walk out the door

I walk up my street to where I usually meet Katniss, she doesn't know but I always wait for her here, while I'm fixing my shoes Katniss runs up to me "hey" she says "hello" I reply and stand up "is it still sore" she frowns "not as much but it's not to comfortable" I say she smiles and kisses my cheek "guess what" "what" she says and looks up at me "my parents are getting divorced and my mum won't be around anymore" I say "is that good or bad?" She asks "it's fantastic!!" I yell, she starts giggling and hugs me "that's great will she be there tonight and tomorrow night?" She says "no she said she's going out for 4 days" I say I don't want her to know about the affair "I can't wait" she says and hugs me.

We walk to school and Annie and Madge run up to me "omgosh Peeta we heard are you ok" They exclaim and hug me "I fell of my bike at the skatepark" Katniss lifts her eyebrow and then smiles "hey Peeta what happened?" Finnick says walking over with Marvel behind him "fell of my bike at the skatepark" "ah you unco bastard you alright" "yeah broken my nose" I say. The bell rings and I go to English with Katniss, Johanna and Marvel. We sit down at the back, I sit next to Marvel and Katniss. Ms trinket starts babbling on about English and I see Katniss having a hard time concentrating, I lie back in my chair and slowly drift off to sleep

"Peeta...Peeta" I wake to the angelic voice "Peeta Ms Trin-" she doesn't finish "MR Mellark what do you think you are doing" she snaps at me "um nothing" I respond "then what did I just say" she says pressing her lips together into a straight line "uh I don't know" I say "why don't you know" she says tapping her high heels. I loose it "because you bore the hell out of everyone here and can you please stop wearing Fluor wigs it's blinding us!" I yell "THAT IS MAHOGANY" she yells, the class bursts out laughing, everyone is laughing so loudly that I nearly miss the bell, I grab Katniss's hand and sprint down the hall way. I see she too is laughing, I bring her into a hug and her laughs get muffled against my shirt. I smile she is so cute when she laughs, I see Annie and Finnick walking down the hall, they see Katniss and start laughing "what's she laughing about" Finnick says pointing at Kat "my run in with Ms Trinket" I say, I see Katniss Katniss stop laughing and start giggling once in a while "sorry it's just so not you to yell at a teacher that's more Jo and me" she says and hugs me. I chuckle a little and go to class

KATNISS POV

Finally the bell goes and I sprint out of class, I run to where Peeta's class is and wait for him. I see him grabbing his books and getting up, I walk in the door and help him "hello" he says "hi" I say "you ready?" He asks "yeah but can we go back to my place I need to get my bag?" I ask "sure" he says and kisses my forehead. "KAT WAIT UP" Madge calls "yeah?" I say turning around "well you know how we have Monday off, Annie and Clove are getting the girls together on Sunday for day on Sunday, the guys are staying at Finnick's, do you wanna come" I look up at Peeta and he gives me a smile "ok Sunday right?" I say making sure "yep" she say "ok I'll be there" I say and smile, she hugs me and runs off "is that ok with you?" I ask and look up at Peeta "yeah it's fine" he says.

We walk back to my house and I grab my stuff, my bag is a reasonable size and is a bit heavy, but I try to carry it by my self "want a hand?" He aks "no it's ok" I say, he smiles and takes the bag off me, I object but he wins as usual, when we arrive he puts my bag down and unlocks the door, I walk in and take my bag up to his bedroom. We walk back down stairs and Rye walks past "Peeta dad wante- oh hello Katniss" he says with a smirk "hi Rye" I say and smile back, he looks at me and smirks, he walks over to Peeta and whispers something wrong into Peeta's ear.

Peeta growls at him and I start blushing, we walk into the kitchen and Peeta grabs some food, I sit on a stool near the bench while he grab as some stuff, I look around the kitchen and can't help but notice how similar it looks to my home, only way neater. I'm snapped out of my thoughts when I hear a voice "oh hello Katniss nice to see you" Felix says "Hi Mr Mellark" he chuckles "Katniss call me Felix" I smile "hi Felix" I say, Peeta laughs and we go back to his room.

"I really miss being with you" he says I smile and kiss his nose "me too" he looks up at me "you know the girls planned the sleepover on Sunday because they want to hear what happens tonight and tomorrow" he says "well my lips are sealed" I say and pretend to zip them closed, Peeta chuckle and brings me into a hug I break away and kiss him, it starts of gentle and soft but it gets rougher, Peeta pushes me against the wall and I kisses me, I him back just as roughly, we keep kissing until the door bursts open and Rye bursts in.

"o god Peeta keep it down " I blush beet red and Peeta just states at Rye "I thought you guys where doin it" Peeta steps away from me and slowly walks towards Rye, when he's about 2 metes away he lunges for him but he runs out of the way, Peeta gets up and chases Rye down the hall way until he gets to his room, Rye quickly locks the door and Peeta starts banging on it "OPEN UP" he yell "no way I might die" rye responds I start laughing but quickly stop. Felix runs up the stairs and to the door "what happened" he asks "rye came in and me and Peeta where um.. Kissing and then he told Peeta to keep it down because he thought we where......." I think he gets the point, he calms Peeta down and he walks over to me "I'm sorry but my brother is such an ass hole" he says I laugh and kiss him "UGH SEE" rye yells "shut up rye" Peeta say and we walk back to his room.

We sit down in the bed, "I'm sorry" he says "Peeta it's fine" I say and push back some of his curls "where we that loud?" I ask "I don't know I wasn't concentrating on that" he say with a smirk, I slap him playfully and he laughs. We talk about awkward moments like that until Felix comes in "dinners ready" he say we get up and head down stairs.
