KATNISS POV

"But..why..did..he..do..it" I say I between sobs. All the girls are trying to comfort me by rubbing my back and hugging me "it's ok Katniss Delly kissed him" Madge tries to reassure me "why would he kiss her after what he said in biology?" Annie says "but it just hurts" I say "I know sweetie but we are here for you" Clove says. We just stay at the bottom of the steps until the bell rings "I (sniff) have science" I say wiping my eyes on my jacket sleeve "same" Madge says. We walk to science and sit down, I don't want to listen so I just play on my phone I see a text message from Peeta and read it

P: I'm so so so so so so so so so so so so sorry Katniss I love you and you only I need to explain what happened I didn't kiss Delly she kissed me, I hope you can forgive me and please talk to me

Usually Peeta puts a heart of some kind of symbol when he texts so I know he is serious. We are about to start when Delly walks in with the biggest smile on her face, all I want to do is smash her head in but I can't I'll get suspended. Madge notices and rubs my back which soothes me and I sit up "sorry" I say to her "no it's alright" she says. Finally the bell to go home wrings and I go and grab my stuff,I get my bag and grab some books that don't fit in my bag, I start walking down the hall way when Delly comes up and bumps me causing all of my stuff to spill onto the ground "what was that for" I growl at her "oops it was an accident" she says putting her finger on her lips

"no it wasn't piss off Delly" Peeta yells from behind me. Delly walks off awkwardly and Peeta comes to help, I can't look him in the eye "it's ok I got it" I say and scoop up my books "listen Katniss can you let me explain" he says I can see he has been crying, he's eyes and red and blotchy like mine and his face shows hurt "ok fine" I say and we walk to a bench and sit down " I went to get my books for history when Delly came up and pushed me onto the locker, she grabbed my wrists and kissed me, i tried to push her off me but she had an iron grip,I didn't want to kiss her so when she broke away I pushed her to the ground, and that's when I saw you drop your books and run out, I'm so sorry Katniss" he says, I know he's telling the truth "it's ok Peeta but it just hurts seeing you with another girl" "I forgive you" I say and look up at him, I see he has a big smile and he wraps me in a hug. "I'm so sorry" he says and breaks away "it's alright" I say and stand up "you coming" I ask him "yeah" he says "want me to walk you home" he asks "yeah ok" I say and we walk off to the middle school.

When we get there a crying prim runs up to me "Prim what's wrong?!" I ask her "it's rue the boys are hitting her" I put her down and run towards the crowds of boys "HEY what are you doing!" I yell and push the boy off rue, "she took my knife" the boy says "what knife?" Rue barely gets out "the one I brought to school!" He yells at her "hey back off buddy" Peeta says walking over "rue didn't take your knife that kid over there did" prim points to a kid with curly hair and freckles holding the knife.

He starts running and all the boys follow him, Peeta goes and gets the school nurse and she calls rues parents, "are you alright" I say to rue as she lies on the bed in the nurses office "my stomach hurts they kept punching me" she says clutching her stomach "don't worry you mum and dad will be here soon" I say.

After about 10 minutes two people burst through the door and into the nurses office, the women who I expect to be Rues mother runs up to me and hugs me "thank you so much for saving her" she says "it's ok" I say the man who is rues dad also gives me a hug and then the carry rue out to their car.

We walk back him in silence. Peeta's house is closer so he stops off and I say bye "bye I'll see you tomorrow" I say and kiss his cheek "bye" he says and walks inside "Prim how did the fight start" I ask her. "Well me and rue where waiting at our tree when 5 boys came over" she says "they started harassing us about the boys knife and we hadn't taken it. Rue told them to stop but they started punching and kicking her and that's when saw you and Peeta" "prim next time get a teacher" I say "I couldn't I was trying to hold them back" she say "did you get hurt?" I ask her "yeah" and she shows me the purple bruise on her right arm "Prim! You should of told us we could have put some ice on it when we where at the nurses" I say " but rue was much worse and I didn't want the attention on me" she says "ok tell me next time though" "alright" we walk back home and my mother freaks when she sees prim. I tell her about the boys and rue and she puts some ice on Prim's arm.
