KATNISS POV

I walked up and feel the pain in my back, i fall back and shut my eyes closed, "Kat? Katniss are you alright?" I hear someone say, I look up "Prim?" "Katniss!! Your alive! Peeta called and said you where in the hospital!" She explains, I look behind her and see Peeta and my Mother, "thank you Peeta" I say, he looks up and comes over to the bed "I was so worried" he says, I lift my arm up and put my hand on his cheek "thank you" he smiles and kisses my cheek, I stare up at him and he smiles. I hear my mother clear her throat "would you like something to eat Katniss?" I turn away from Peeta and look at her, her face is stern but I can see a smile creeping up on her lips "yeah um thanks" I say, trying to regain myself, she leaves with Prim and it's just me and Peeta "Peeta, what happened?" I ask "what do you mean?" He says "why am I in the hospital and why does my back kill?" I know that my back is the reason I'm in the hospital but I don't remember what happened. Peeta looks at me, his face for of compassion and sadness.

"um Kat you were kidnapped and tortured by the old president, president snow" I look at him "what? are you joking?" I say "no we where walking together and he jumped out and got you, I went looking for you and tried to rescue you but I got caught and they tortured us, they whipped you and that's how your back got so bad. The people who kidnapped us where Gale, Lucy and Delly" I gasp when I hear that they where the ones who captured and tortured me "I knew Delly and Lucy hated me but capturing and torturing me come on" I say, Peeta chuckles and goes on "I persuaded Delly and Lucy to help us escape, but that morning when we were going to try escape you where whipped again and this time you were barley conscious and in a lot of pain, so I had to try carry you" I'm shocked but keep listening "we escaped but they chased us until we made it to a clearing and could see a street, we ran but I tripped and we all fell, I copped the worst of it but I pushed you out of the way and Delly fell on your back" he says, memories come flashing back, Gale, Snow, the whipping, blacking out. I remember it all.

I start shacking and hide my face in my hands, Peeta pries my hands free and looks at me, "are you ok?" He asks, "h-he killed m-my d-d-dad" is stutter "who?" Peeta asks "SNOW HE KILLED MY FATHER PEETA!" I yell, tears come streaming down my face and I start to make those weird noises when I cry, Peeta sits down on the bed and carefully wraps his arms around me, I hide my face in his shirt and start to sob "Katniss it's alright are you sure it was him?" Peeta asks "y-yes P-Peeta I-I know it w-was him" I sob "ok we will report that to the police when you are better." We stay like that until my mother and Prim come in "Katniss I got you a- what's wrong" my mother says "I-I-I uh" I try to get the words out but it's too hard and I break down again, Prim runs over with my mother no they envelope my in a big hug, my mother looks at me and so does Prim to make sure that I'm alright so I give them a half hearted smile, Peeta gets off and smiles at us "Katniss honey can you tell me what's wrong?" I suck in some air and try to compose myself, I wipe my nose and continue.

"The man behind me kidnapping and torture he. u.h he" I stutter I can't get it out, "yes what did he do?" Prim asks "h-he killeddad" I says tears threatening to spill. Damn how can i cry so much, it's actually really annoying "w-what?" My mother says trying to absorb what I have said "Snow, He killed your husband and tortured Katniss" Peeta says, I look up at him and smile, Prim let's out a little shriek and my mother look like how she did when she shut down 2 years ago. "B-but he was hit by a car?" Prim says "yes it was on purpose the car swayed and hit him and drove off making sure he was dead" I blurt out "Kat are you sure?" My mother asks, "yes it was him I know his face anywhere" I say. Just then a doctor and a Police officer walk in.

"Hello ms Everdeen I'm officer Boggs I'm the detective/officer solving your case" "o-ok" I stutter. He sits down in the chair next to my bed with a note pad and pen "excuse me are you Katniss's family" he gestures to my mother and Prim "uh yes yes we are" Mum answers "can I please speak to your daughter and Mr Mellark alone?" "Sure" Prim says and they hurry out the door.

"Ok Katniss can you tell me what you remember the night your where 'kidnapped'?" I look at Peeta and he smiles "well-"
