Chapter 30

KATNISS POV

It feels a little awkward with Cato here but soon the guys start talking and we join in. I hadn't realised but it didn't feel the same with out Cato, him and Peeta were always good friends but Peeta chooses me over anyone and anything so he got real pissed when Cato cheated on Clove.

After a good hour and a half of talking we all get changed and the guys jump in Annie's pool, it's really big but I know Annie and her Family love swimming and have grown up on the beach, they moved here because there is a beach close to the house. I test the water with my foot and decide it's a bit cold and to just talk with Annie and the other girls

"How do you feel about Cato being here?" Jo asks Clove "it's alright I don't want to rush anything so we decided on being friends and see what happened" Clove answers "if he messes with you again tell me and I'll kill him for you" I laugh a little and Madge does as well. We just chit chat for a while and Peeta comes over.

He shakes his hair and sprays me and Madge "Hey!!" I yell and spring up "oh sorry I didn't see you there" he says innocently "oh really?" I say walking back to my chair "really" he says with a smirk. I shake my head at him and sit back down

"hey Kat can you help us get the ball down from the tree?" He asks "no get it yourself" I say and stick out my tongue "no I need you to get on my shoulders and reach up and get it" I think about his plan and lift my eye brow "why don't you just climb the tree and get it your self" I ask "it's on a thin branch it'll snap if I stand on it" he says trying to sound smart "well then you better lay off those cheese buns" I say and the girls burst out laughing "ha-ha very funny come on" he says and extends his hand "uhhh fine" I groan and get up. I get on his shoulder and we walk over to the tree "I don't see the ball?" I say and look up "it's over to the right" Fin says "I can't see it!?" I yell back down at them "come back a bit" Marvel yells Peeta, I hear Cato and Finnick snicker to each other but I don't see what's so funny. Peeta takes a few steps back "I still can't-" "KAT LOOK OUT" but it's too late Peeta let's go of my legs and I fall backwards into the pool.

I come up coughing and spluttering, everyone is in fits of laughter even Annie, Clove and Madge "uhhh I-I-it's c-c-cold" I stutter. Peeta jumps in spraying me a little, I frown and he extends his arms. At first I reject them but after a few minutes the look of Peeta's warm muscular arms trap me and I give up, "you know it was pretty funny" he says, I rest my head on his shoulder and sigh "you actually did a flip without trying it was pretty cool if you ask me" he says I laugh a bit imagining what it must have looked like "well at least it was coordinated" I say and look up at Peeta "yes you looked like an acrobat" I huff and Peeta chuckles, I look into his ocean blue eyes and kiss him. My figures quickly find their way into Peeta's soft blond hair and I feel his hands go up and down my back. I can't help it but I make a moaning sound, it feels to good, I feel Peeta smile into the kiss which makes me smile, we finally break away for air after i don't know how long but it must have been a while because it's dark, I rest my forehead against his "I love you Peeta" I say slightly out of breath " I love you too" he says

We swim slowly around the water, Peeta wants to carry me and I let him, he carries me bridal style and I keep me head rested on his shoulder,I feel I could fall asleep but I remind myself that we are in a swimming pool, my eyes start to droop but i try to keep them open, I see Peeta has noticed this and he begin to get shallower and shallower. I feel my self being lifted out of the water and feel the bite of the freezing cold air on my skin, I immediately start shaking and I feel Peeta's muscles tighten up as well.

I open my eyes and see that I'm wrapped in a bundle of blankets on one of Annie's deck chairs.

Peeta is next to me and when I open my eyes, I see him smile "i didn't want you to freeze so I wrapped you in some towels but you were still shivering so I grabbed some old blankets" he explains, I smile and lean up and kiss his cheek "Peeta did I fall asleep because it's a lot darker outside than I remember?" "Yeah you dozed off while I was looking for more blankets, you have been asleep for 35 minutes" "oh" is all I say, I rest my head back on the chair and I see Annie and Madge come up
