Clark told me that he called Perry, saying I left the hospital a day ago, and now a day later, my boss emailed me and said to stay home until I am fully recovered so there wouldn't be any difficulty for me, I protested so now I'm working at Clark's apartment as I didn't want to become useless at the moment. I also called Jonathan about it as Clark persuaded me and Jonathan still bid me a get well soon when he answered.
Hearing the news about Perry, I told Clark about it and said that I could stay in my apartment since I have all of the files transferred to me and I could just send the finished outputs to Perry and other co-workers via email. As usual, he protested, saying that if I needed something, I didn't have to walk for too long and that there's a very near convenience store and park to walk Shay.
I was in the kitchen, editing in my laptop after fumbling the clay. Every time Clark leaves to work, I went to finish the sculpture four hours a day so I could start doing one for Superman. It was faster, instead of after going home from the Daily Planet, I only get to do it sometimes only an hour or two. Since I am not in the building that requires eight hours of work, I can work anytime I want. No one needs to know that, as long as I submit something on time. It wouldn't look suspicious.
I made sure that to hide my artworks very well where Clark wouldn't bother to look at. The sound of unlocking the door reaches my ears, I typed swiftly, clicking 'send' multiple times to the emails of my associates.
"Starly!" Zach lunged at me, making the chair rocked at the sudden movement. My eyes widened as I gripped at the edge of the table to prevent from falling. Startled to see him in Clark's apartment.
"Clark told me you left the hospital," He said, wrapping his arms around me. "Ugh, I miss you, bro."
My eyebrows quirked, "Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you." I wrapped my arms around him, patting his back. At first, I texted him then I realized my load expired and had forgotten about it. "No, not forgot. My load expired. Sorry."
He chuckled as he removed his arms, "That's fine. I bought you Italian Coffee Affogato, your favorite." He handed me the ice cream from the plastic he was holding.
I smiled, "Wow. You didn't have to, Zach. But thank you." I took the container. Clark pulled a chair and sat beside me, dropping his bag on the table.
"You better eat that because he dragged me all the way to the convenience store to buy you that Ice cream before we went here." Clark rolled his eyes playfully.
I laughed, "Zach, I wanted to say I'm sorry."
Clark snorted.
I apologized because there was an output and I had to send it to Zach but I gave him a fake email first. That was my revenge for what he did when I thought he was about to tell Clark my feelings.
"That's okay I think I deserved that." He chuckled.
"If only you were there, Jade." Clark smiled brightly, "He screamed and our co-workers suddenly looked at him."
"Of course, I would scream! She gave me a booby trap email, you know those links that says advertising or you won something but if you click it, a scary face will suddenly show up your screen."
I laughed once more, "That was my revenge for what you did to me last time. I would have told Clark about the email but he might tell you, so." I shrugged and turned to Clark. "Sorry."
"It's fine. It was unexpected."
We all shared a laugh and Zach bid us farewell after spending a few hours with us. My laptop was already in my bag and before that, I got an email from Perry that he was satisfied with what I've done today. We were now sitting on the couch, eating the Ice cream that Zach bought for me. The tub was placed between us.
