It has been tiring and the day seemed to be gloomy. With the dark sky that looked like it was about to rain sooner or later, it felt like it wasn't a good day to be productive. Then it felt like I got nothing else to do even if I got a pile of unfinished work on my desk in Daily Planet.

I went out to buy some groceries, and I have no choice but to do it as I didn't want to starve for the whole day. On my hands was three paper bags stuffed with foods and other necessities.

My eyes widened a bit as soon as I opened my door in my apartment. A hoard of flower boxes was placed on my coffee table and couch. Not just any flower but my favorite ones. My mouth parted at the sight then Clark appeared from the kitchen with a smile on his face.

        "Good morning."

I opened my mouth and closed it again, glancing at the flowers. "How did you get in here? And you don't have a key to my apartment."

Clark smirked, "I surprised you with a bunch of flowers and a good morning, and all I get is how I get in here?"

My face became warm, "I mean, good morning."

He chuckled and went towards me, grabbing the paper bags that were about to slip from my grip from the heavy weight. "Let me help you with that."

"Thanks," I said, "but how?" I closed the door behind me and followed him through the kitchen.

"I asked one from Zach." He placed it on the counter.

I stared at the view from the other side, fascinated by it and I knew by the fact that my eyes must have dilated. I strolled next to it, softly rubbing the petals, then the stem and the box. Caressing the design. Appreciating the effort, mostly the money that Clark has spent because I knew that these kinds were expensive.

It made me wonder what the occasion was all about. It wasn't my birthday and there was nothing special.

"I wanted to make up for Valentine 's Day," he suddenly said as if he had read my thought, "I wanted to make it special but since we didn't have the time, I just decided to plan it for another day. And that's today." He stopped right beside me and I looked up to him that were filled with gratitude at his attempt.

I softly chuckled and quietly said, "I don't know what to say."

He gave a tender smile, "You don't have to, Jade."

"This is too much effort, Clark. You don't have to do these to make me happy. I'm already contented and pleased by having you."

He pursed his lips, "I don't want you to be just contented. And besides, I told you that I will make it up to you, and you deserve to be showered with gifts."

I bit my lip and looked down at the flowers, "So what's the plan for today then?"

"I was hoping if you would like to spend our time in an amusement park."

"I'd love that," I smiled widely.

    —

"How about that Ferris wheel?" I pointed at it across of us.

"Let's make that the last ride," Clark said.

        "Why?"

"The view's better up there when it's night time."

        "It's already sunset."

"Just wait a few more hours. I'm telling you, Jade. They'll have a great view later."
