I was on my couch, petting Shay's head who was beside me. I was thinking something that was nagging me, making my head hurt, after hours have passed. I just remembered that I left my unfinished work in Clark's apartment a few hours ago after he invited me.
I took another cab to his apartment, leaving my dog behind. I padded to his door and knocked softly, after a few minutes of not receiving any response, I knocked again, a bit louder this time.
There was still no answer. I decided to open his door and found out that it was unlocked, he probably forgot to lock it when I left, and that's a mistake even if Superman was around to save us.
Setting foot in his apartment, I saw his jacket that he wore during work, no doubt he was in his bathroom if he didn't hear me.
"Hey, Clark! I forgot my—" I gasped loudly after I walked in to the living room, seeing that he and Lois was kissing passionately, his hand on her cheek and her hands were placed on his chest.
They stopped quickly and looked at me as soon as they heard myself talking. Clark abruptly backed away from her, shifting his eyes between Lois and I as if he did something regretful.
"I am so sorry!" I covered my mouth and turned around at the sight of them. There was this aching pain in my chest.
"Jade—" Clark started talking but I cut him off of his words. He looked shocked and his eyes were wide as if he was supposed to hear me knock or just by hearing my footsteps, and he didn't hear it because he was busy as you can tell, definitely not in the bathroom doing his business but a different kind of business.
While Lois on the other hand, she looked irritated as she backed away from the kiss that I intervened. I was starting to feel my eyes get warm and blurry. Why does she always get what she wants? I thought what we did earlier was just a start. No, it was not, we were just fooling around.
"Just continue whatever you were doing before I interrupted. I'll just come back next time," waving my right hand off as if saying 'go back to your business'. I jogged out of his home.
All I remember that time was him yelling to wait and it even hurt that he didn't even follow me. That was a day ago, now I was talking to Zach inside my office as he sat across of me, giving his opinion on a recent project that I was working on. Perry just gave me another earlier. I haven't seen Clark today, he wasn't absent as I saw his brown bag below his desk.
"I feel a bit pathetic, Zach." I confessed as I ran my eyes through the lines and colors of my design.
He gave me a glance and pointed at a part, "You should change this color. It's too eye-catching and bright."
I took a note and circled it with a thick marker.
"Give me the full story."
"Well... yesterday he insisted that he'll cook for me and help me later on while I take a break, so we went to his apartment. After the dinner was done, we fooled around. Then I left his apartment after forgetting the files, few hours later I came back to take it and there they were. Kissing." I gloomed.
"And?" He pointed again, "Put some design here, it's too plain."
I nodded, taking another note. "I turned around after I saw them, I said I'm sorry, and I also said go back to your business before I interrupted, then I left." I grunted, "I told you, Zach. I don't have a chance."
"Don't give up so soon, Jade. You're just going to let Lois have Clark? Besides she has Superman." He stated, scratching his head as he scan the project.
