"You okay?"
"She's still crying."
"I know, shut up! Hey, you can stop crying now."
"Jesus Christ, how many tear ducts do you have. I didn't know you guys were given this much moisture retention."
"Who's this Jesus fellow? And what's moisture retention? Please stop, Asura's really sorry for what he did."
"Why are you being so nice? It's weird. It's like seeing a boar eating lettuce."
"Richard did, last month. Come on, Asura use some of that healing."
"I'm not replacing every one of her cells just to heal one little bruise. But I can do this."
"This better not involve killing yourself."
The wailing intensified.
"Hold still. People are staring, make them go away."
"What, me?"
"No, that flower."
"Fine. Guys, get lost, nothing to see here, just some witchcraft. Go home and sew some dolls or whatever it is boys do at this time of year."
"Better."
One pale hand hovered over the girl's head and a soft glow emanated from the palm. The glow radiated towards the bruise, and a cooling feeling swept over the girl.
And the crying stopped.
"What'd you do?"
"I just poured some Rei into her body to catalyze the healing process. The Rei won't reproduce in her body like yours, so she won't become a super soldier. Sorry, but you're one of a kind for now. Now, kid, do you have a name, cause I have a few good ones."
"..."
"What was that?"
"..."
"Magrathea, come see if you can hear her."
"Krista."
"What?"
"She's saying Krista. Krista's her name."
"Why couldn't she tell me directly?"
"..."
"She says you're a scary man."
"Smart girl. Let's bring her home. I'll find someone else to call Gorgonzola."
