"What'd you say to Dad?"

"You don't need to whisper, Magrathea."

"So why are you whispering?"

"I'm getting a strange feeling from this place."

"I thought you said you'd been here before. You should be used to it."

"I've only been in one part. Behind this mountain, I slipped in and then saw what was inside. I sealed it then, that very day."

"Why?"

"Because I saw something I didn't like. And I didn't like it, imagine what normal people would think."

"I'm not normal?"

"No, you're a boy with unnatural intelligence and a power that could possibly rival that of a god. Normal doesn't really cut it."

"You praised me and insulted my very existence at the same time. You have a girlfriend?"

"Why?"

"No reason. Just wanted to see if girls like monsters in your era."

"There are men worse than me."

"So you have a girlfriend?"

"Shut up."

"That's a yes."

"God, this tunnel is long."

"Is that what she says? Ow!!"

"Both of you shut up!!!"

"..."

"Thank you. The cavern splits here. I can't sense anything, and Frisk can't smell anything either."

"Frisk?"

"Asura, you explain it to him. I'll ask Frisk to scout ahead again."

"Your father has a power called Familiar.  Guess who named that."

"You said he can talk to spirits and use Submission on them.  But Frisk is the wolf, neh?"

"Neh.  That wolf is quite literally your father's familiar, a spirit animal."

"Ah.  Makes no sense, but anything's possible at this point."

"There's a lot of fine print and stuff like that to powers like his.  Like for example, uhhhh...actually, no he's pretty much free."

"Convenient."

"Now for some training."

"I'm crippled.  I can't walk.  I can't shoot things with parts of my soul."

"That's why I'm teaching you how to walk."

"How?"

"You know how birds teach their young to fly?"

"No...oh."

"Yeah.  Oopsie-daisy!"

"Ow!  Still can't walk."

GRRRRRRK!!

"Asura, what did you do?"

The stone beneath them began to shake, causing pretty much the whole cavern to shake.  And the area around where Magrathea was sitting glowed with a white light.

And the circle disappeared, to reveal...

Nothing.

"AAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"

"Frisk!!"

A turquoise blur bounded after the falling boy, disappearing into the hole as well, just before it smoothed over and became solid again.

The cavern continued to shake, sending the two tumbling to the floor.  And the walls began to distort.

"General, what's happening?"

"I thought you knew!  I was just going to ask you!"

Up became down, left became right.  The room rearranged itself into a scene taken straight from a surreal dream.

And then the howling started.
