"I don't like this!!"
"Oh, and you think I do?"
"You have a wolf! I have nothing!"
"Good. Makes things easier."
"How?"
"Get on the wolf."
"Yes! I mean...fine, if you want me to."
"Don't get snarky, get on or it won't be my wolf you're riding."
Three wolves apparently made from stone rose from the still moving wall if the cavern, which was slowly becoming a room. The regular carved surfaces stretched and curved, bit by bit forming one cohesive smooth surface.
"It's becoming a sphere, isn't it?"
"Yes, and I'm not sure why. Is there a command for this thing to start moving? Cause they're coming."
All three stone leapt into motion, speeding across the smooth incline in formation.
"How are they living like that? Asura?"
"I think...I think the room is distorted."
"Oh, thanks, I didn't see that already!"
"No, more than the physical space is distorting. I don't know why, so les assume it's a trap designed to repel intruders. The Jäger must have gone through here as well. They must have fought their way through this."
"You aren't answering the question."
"The gravity is being distorted as well. It seems to be focused away from the centre of this sphere, allowing our canine friends to appearing my walk on the walls. But it's not a wall, it's a floor. One big floor."
"So as long as we keep running and dodging, we can't be cornered."
"We won't get out I here running and dodging. We need to fight. By we I mean you."
"You're not helping? I could use a sidekick."
"That's funny. Real funny. Once I get my powers back-"
"You'll stay away from my son."
"I didn't say anything about you, however."
"Fine. After we get out of here. If we keep this distance, I can throw Rei at them. But-"
Just as the General said but, the wolves stopped in their tracks and started to convulse, howling and shrieking the whole way. Black seeped from somewhere inside them and coated the outer layer, spreading like moss across the slick stone surface.
And then they just melted into the ground, unhindered by physics. Three flat vaguely wolf-looking shadows were now inside the surface if the room. And they zipped, that's the word, zipped across the room and popped up right in front of the speeding turquoise wolf.
"Brace yourself!"
