A mermaid falls in love with a human prince and makes a deal with a witch to turn into a human to try and get with him. She has to give up her voice, but that's cool because he likes her anyway. But then he decides to marry somebody else, so she dies. Or maybe she kills the other woman and marries the prince. It depends who you ask.
