A poor woodcutter, his two kids, and his new wife (an evil stepmother) are having a hard time getting by, so the stepmother convinces the dad to lead the kids out into the woods and abandon them. These resourceful kids are actually able to find their way back home by leaving a trail of pebbles behind them, but the next time all they have is breadcrumbs, which get eaten by birds. Lost deep in the woods, they find an old lady living in a candy house, which looks promising, but it turns out she's an evil witch who wants to eat them. Luckily, the little girl is able to push the old lady into a hot oven and bolt the door shut. Classic Grimm!
