Couple of notes friends. A lot of this upcoming chapters will be switching back and forth in a Nigerian accent, pidgin, Canadian english and igbo.... bad igbo because we are the lost tribe! Our parents keep forgetting to teach us haha as the author I can't speak any igbo pass "kedu?" So I am living my dream through Amira and she is fluent! With the help of google translator.
Enjoy the chapter! Don't forget to comment, like, and add to libabry! I love hearing from you! I seriously do! Thanks for reading!Stay Happy!
- Rachel KingToday is the day. Lagos here we come. The excitement of travelling is in the Adora household. Nobody is ready and our flight leaves in three and a half hours. I just finished dressing Lucien and Hazel, Crystal just got out the shower and Will is doing whatever Will does, not too sure. I have been in a daze since last night, I am trying to be put together but I am falling apart. The only person that knows my period is late is Mason. I didn't even tell Kim and Jenny. I feel like if I breath the words out to anyone except the both of us I would make it valid.
"Please sit here, don't take anything off or open your suitcase or put anything on. Just sit here. I am serious." I warn Hazel and Lucien. I have a million things stressing me out and I would like for them not to join the list.
Lucien moves to stand up. "No, I need my hat downstairs."
I pull him back to his seat."You have everything you need in your carry on. Both of you."He frowns at me and fold his arms.
"Amira the bell rang." Hazel said, interrupting Lucien and I stare down. I didn't even hear the ring. It must be brother Mike and Daniel from church with the truck to help us take our luagages the airport.
"Stay here." I point to Hazel and Lucien, as I head to the door. "If I come back and one or both of you is not sitting where I left you, you will not be happy with me."
I open our door and the cold Alberta wind rushes through. "Good morning, Brother Mike and brother Daniel." I greet the two guys from our church. They aren't my brothers or brothers at all, it's just something we say out of respect. I let them enter the house from the cold winter wind.
Mike looks at the bags behind me in the foyer and laughs in suprise. "Jesus, all these bags? N'ihi na naanị mmadụ isii? (For only six people?)" Mike said in igbo and I laugh at the look on his face. He has a comical face.
"Good morning Ma." Daniel greets my mother follow by Mike.
"Micheal and Daniel, Kedu ka ị mere?" Which means (how are you?) In igbo. We are heading to Nigeria and suddenly everybody has turn on their Igbo.
"Ezi Ma (Fine ma)" Are you people ready for yahh trip?" Mike who has a thick igbo accent ask and I giggle a little on the inside.
"These children are just running around doing last minutes things, but the bags are packed. If they play with me M ga- ahapụ ha ebe a. (I will leave them here)"
They both chuckle, both I wish she would. It will make what might be coming easier to process, but I pray for my sake it doesn't. I leave to go back to the Hazel and Lucien who thank God for their sake are still sitting there watching Tv.My mother user them towards the kitchen. "I have egusi soup and Eba. I made it for you guys last night. It is packed, but you can eat it now or later."
"Chaiii, thank you ma, but later. Anyị na-eri ugbu a, knock out. (If we eat now, we will pass out.)"
"Amira." She yells my name. "Amira? Go and tell your sister to be down here in ten minutes. Tell Will to come and help Micheal and Daniel to put the bags in the truck."
