*author notes*
Y'all are going to feel like chunks of the chapter is missing, that's intentional. It will be brought back in The Promise (2)
*Amira POV*
"Amira, I can't believe you are doing this." Crystal sigh putting the items on my drawer in newspaper and into the brown box. My parents are away at church and I decided it best to come now and grab my stuff that way it doesn't rise more questions with my younger siblings.
"You know it wasn't my choice but I have to do what I have to do. I think you have spent long enough being the black sheep of the family. It's my turn." I smile putting my clothes into the box.
After the talk with my parents I picked me and doing what I want and living the life I want. I want Mason and my family and I picked them both. I will go with Mason but I will always be there for them. My love isn't conditional. Mason and I talked about the big step I was taking together and then with his family. We came to the conclusion that we will be getting our own place at the end of the school year in June. In the fall we both plan on heading to university and it's looking like we are going to attend University of Calgary or Alberta. I spoke to his family about pursing a lawsuit against Bradley Longmont for the tape but I didn't want to go to court as that will get public and I don't want my family to go through that in the community. I just wanted a settlement. The details are still being worked out with their lawyers and mine. I plan on giving most of the money to my parents for them and my siblings. The rest I will use for school and to contribute to Mason and I apartment and life.
Since the ordeal at school the school let me finish off the school year at home. They came to this agreement because Mason father was going to rain a lawsuit on them and they wanted to avoid that. I really couldn't go back to school, my life as I knew it ended and I just needed a fresh start.
"It saddens me crystal to move out and have our parents shun me like the amish. It hurts but what have I not change for them? Mason and I seem like forever and even if it isn't I know that deep down in my heart this needed to happen."
"Mom said when you leave there is no returning especially with that boy." I smile at her and tape the box shut.
"What are they telling people about my absence?"
"Chief (CJ father) ask and mom said you decided to go stay with aunty in the U.K. And that you will be there for the summer working an internship, since I finished school early."
"And what did he say?" I ask
"He knows something is up but he didn't say much." I shake my head. How long do they think they can keep this lie up.
"Time is the healer and the killer. They need time. It will speak when it needs to." I pack my last box and zip up the suitcase. My chest hurt with sadness I never thought I would leave like this. Always pictured moving out when I was done university with the help of my whole family. Not months before my high school graduation with the help of only my sister and boyfriend.
"Mason take this two down please. They are not heavy." I point at them. "Hey you finally get to see my house and my room." I smiled.
"I know right. By the way took photos of your baby pictures downstairs. Wowww you are a cutie." He laugh and so those crystal
"Did you see the one in the all purple outfit?" Crystal laugh, she just had to bring it up. I can't believe my mother let my aunt put me in that.
"No I didn't but you have to show me." He cheesed, beaming with excitement.
