Nearly every single she-wolf wore a dress at the Mating Ceremony. I had to be different. I had grabbed a pair of jeans and a long grey sweater. I wasn't going to wear my sister's clothes. Instead of being at the ceremony, I was watching it from my sister's balcony.

My father was so absorbed in his conversation with another wolf that he didn't even realise that I wasn't at the party. Eleanor was so concentrated on Beta Matthews that she didn't notice either. I was laughing as one of the wolf males fell over while trying to kiss his mate.

Curiously I sniffed the air. No mate so far. However I was too far away to even smell him and he to me. I watched as Eleanor chatted with Beta Matthews. By the way she was acting, it was like how the humans would react if they ever met the queen. If I could be bothered to get to her, which I can't, I'd probably spike her drink with alcohol to loosen her up.

"LUCILLE GET DOWN HERE NOW"

My eyes widened as I realised that my father had come to get me. Quickly I crawled under Eleanor's bed praying that her extra long and fruity smelling sheets would block me and my smell.

I saw my father's black shoes as he walked into Eleanor's room. I heard him sniff at the air and grunt. The fruity smelling sheets were working! I heard him open the closet and grunt. He opened her on-suite bathroom and growled. Then he walked out. I was hoping he was going to leave when I heard him open the door to my room.

A loud bang erupted through the house followed by some cursing and growling. He'd probably just fallen over my childhood skateboard which was probably broken into two or three pieces now. He stomped down the stairs, opened the front door and slammed it angrily on his way out.

I crawled out from under the bed giggling. I grabbed one of Eleanor's books from off her bookshelf and jumped onto her bed. The book was called Macbeth. I opened it and began to read. It was a bit boring at the start but as it progressed I was beginning to highly admire Lady Macbeth. Too bad she goes insane in the end. I dropped the book down and walked back onto the balcony. Father and Beta Matthews were speaking. Father had a proud arm around Eleanor and was obviously agreeing to let Matthews marry Eleanor. Eleanor rushed up and gave Matthews a hug who picked her up and swung her around in the air. Some more men approached father and they began a conversation together.

I went and grabbed a coke from the fridge downstairs. I was rummaging in the cupboard for something to eat when Eleanor came in through the kitchen back door with Beta Matthews.

"Lucille?"

I turned around to face the love-sick couple.

"Yes?"

"We're getting married" she squealed.
