Walking into the community I call home, I felt a wave of happiness. I had only left yesterday but it felt like I had been away for a million years.

The community was almost deserted, which was probably due to weddings. After the Mating Ceremony a lot of people would get married so they could start getting it on. I remember last year where the weddings were one after each other for two weeks! Hopefully there would be just as many this time.

Apart from a few children playing about there didn't seem to be anyone else. However children could never keep a secret. I stayed in the shadows of the trees and began to move. I had been away from the house for about two hours and the wolves here would eventually pick up my scent. I had until about 5pm. 5 hours.

I came to the edge of the treeline. The backyard of my house was a straight run but in between that was open field. Anyone simply walking around the corner would see it. I listened out for intruders, using my wolf senses. It hurt to use her as I only had her for a few days but I knew that after my first transformation it wouldn't.

I couldn't hear nothing. I eyed the house and closed my eyes. I took a deep breath and powered all my energy into my feet. Then I was running. My feet were loud on the gravel but I ignored it and increased my speed. I could see the garden fence coming. This was going to be the most painful. I powered everything into my legs, willing for the wolf to come out. The fence was there and I leapt off the ground. For a second I thought I was never going to make it, it felt like the jump wasn't powerful enough but then relief flooded me as I saw the fence past me by an inch.

I landed on my arm and winced. Despite it being fully healed it was still a little sensitive. I sucked at the air desperate to get back the oxygen I had missed.

Once my breathing had returned to normal, I picked myself off the floor and listened. I could still hear the excited screams and squeals of the children playing their games so if they had heard me or seen me they weren't raising the alarm. I opened the back door which led into the kitchen. Dirty dishes from yesterday was still piled up and smashed plates littered the ground.

My mind raced. What on earth had happened here?

I wandered around the kitchen shocked. It looked like a fight had broken out. My chest pained at the thought of my dad being hurt or worse.

My heart stopped as a familiar yet sinister voice rang out across the room.

"Hello sister"
