I awoke in the early morning in the same bedroom that I had been in for the past year. Fear struck me. Was everything last night just a dream?

I got up out of my bed and looked around. The bars had been torn off the windows and the windows had been opened. The room had been cleaned and the bed made. A lamp, TV, DVD player and DVDs had been added into the room. Next to the TV was a silver laptop, a silvery charger resting on top of it.

Quietly I tiptoed to the door and tried the lock. To my relief it fully turned and I was able to open the door. However outside a guard was waiting. He jumped a little when he saw me.

"Miss Louise you're up, I'll tell Mr. Morrison"

"Mr. Morrison?"

"Ahh you know him by the name Liam miss"

I nodded. He began to walk away when I called him back.

"Yes Miss"

"Until further notice my name is Lucille" I called. "Don't call me Louise"

He nodded. "As you wish miss"

I watched him walk away and then I closed the door and went back inside the room. Two minutes later Liam entered. I noticed already his cheek was a darker red in colour than the other cheek.

"How are you feeling?" He asked.

"Better" I replied. "A little overwhelmed"

He knocked on the door twice. A maid entered carrying a plate of pancakes and some hot chocolate. She set it down and left.

"Thought you might want something other than porridge"

I grabbed the tray and began eating. My taste buds awakened at the taste of the pancakes. To me it felt like they had been hibernating for many years. After I chomped down my first one, I slowed down my eating so I could have time to actually savour the taste.

Once I was finished I dropped the tray down on the counter.

"Clean up" he said. "We leave for your parents soon"

Once I was cleaned up I met Liam in the foyer. Liam had a T-shirt and jeans paired with red and black trainers. His outfit seemed so stylish compared to my leggings and thin gray jumper.

Together me and Liam filed out of the house got into an SUV.

The first five minutes of driving was done in silence. Not one for awkwardness I tried to think of something to talk about.

"How long have you been looking for me" I asked.

The fact I was speaking seemed to surprise him but he didn't say anything about it.

"I've been looking for two years. Your parents have been looking for 16 years"

So I was right about the age in the photo.

"How come you've been looking for two?"

He gripped his hand on the steering wheel and straightened up like he was angry I had asked.

"Because up until 3 years ago I had no idea you even existed"
