Watching him cry was pathetic. Especially something as trivial as this. She couldn't stand his pitiful whimpers as he clutched on to her shirt, sobbing.
She didn't move to hug him. Just let him hold on to her like his life depended on her. She didn't bother to send encouraging words, sitting stiffly.
It wasn't that he lost against Shiratorizawa. Oh no, far more than that. In fact the reason Oikawa was crying over irked her to no return.
Oikawa was crying over a worthless girl who cared nothing for him. Just his good looks and popularity. (F/n) was angry at the girl and Oikawa. But she was more angry at herself for not protecting him more.
"I thought I did well this time," Oikawa sniffled. There was no answer as (F/n) just placed her head on top of his. She gripped on to her skirt tighter.
"Why do you keep running to her then?" she sneered, sick of the stupid girl. She detached from Oikawa and picked up a book.
Oikawa said nothing at first. "... Because I love her."
(F/n)'s heart thudded dully. "You're pretty stupid, Oikawa-kun."
The setter looked taken aback by her stone cold attitude. He started whining but she ignored him. But she didn't flip a page for five minutes although they both knew she was a fast reader.
"Just leave her. She's worthless," (F/n) finally spoke.
Oikawa was silent before he burst out angrily. "How can you say that? She's better than any girl out there. Why are you so bitter to her? What had she done to receive cruel judgement from you? Why are so negative at everyone and everything?" He screamed.
(F/n)'s face remained impassively. "Because you're so blind to her, you can't see pass the mask she's wearing," she said plainly, making a show of flipping her book to the next page.
Oikawa raised his hand and slapped her face hard. (F/n) stared at him with a very surprised look before her face darkened. Oikawa gaped and immediately looked guilty.
"(F/n)-Chan..."
"It's (L/n) to you," the girl said coldly. She collected her things and pointed to the door. "Door's that way."
Oikawa reached out for her. "W-wait!"
(F/n) glared at him. "If you please, you're intruding the household."
Defeated, Oikawa left the apartment. "I'm sorry," he whispered but the girl's eyes were dull.
The minute he left, (F/n) sighed and placed her face into her hands. Tears leaked down her face as she let a monstrous cry.
Who was the pathetic one now?
