"So, this is it, huh?" her trembling, soft voice went with the wind. He was too far. So painfully far away.
"I'm sorry, (F/n)-Chan," his voice was equally soft but it was firm. Her head was down. She never looked up, never forward. Never letting anyone see her eyes that held nothing but the witness of broken promises. It frustrated him to no end.
"My eyes? They're ugly," she always said and she dropped the matter. She was never confident, always shy and easily pushed around, easily picked on.
It annoyed him. She knew. It gave him more burden than he could cope. He had enough on his plate as it was. She never had been the best company to be around. "I never expected anything from this relationship anyways."
"I'm sorry," he repeated, casting a pitying look at her. She hated that look, his apologizing. But she knew he would be relieved once it was over.
He wasn't that cruel was he?
Oh, but everyone was and continue to be. Even the pretty angel like him. (F/n) gave a harsh laugh. "You're so cruel..." she spoke as he turned to leave. He stopped.
Sugawara Koushi and cruel never mixed together. "I thought you weren't like the others."
But I thought wrong. Like everything I did.
"I thought it would last this time. I thought I don't have to suffer again. I thought you'd never leave. It's terrible, isn't it?"
Finally, she lifted her head. Her eyes a dull (e/c) as tears streaked down her face. She covered them quickly with her arm as she smiled.
"I never thought I'd say this again... I wish you all the best," she chuckled drily. "From the bottom of my heart."
(F/n) turned on her heels. She hadn't gone far before his arms wrapped around her from behind. "I'm sorry," he whispered again.
There was a short silence and then she slipped away. Like she never existed.
Somehow, he felt that she was right.
He was cruel.
