[A/N] As requested by Kozume_Kenma ~ A bit inspired by the scene in Big Hero 6 during Tadashi's funeral.

(F/n) watched as Kenma moved his fingers effortlessly over the buttons of the game controller. He looked distracted, his character losing continuously without passing a single level. (F/n) shot him a questioning look but didn't speak up.
Kenma paused the game with a sigh. He turned his head to the side. (F/n) gave a smile and placed her hand on his. Kenma flinched and (F/n) withdrew her hand, startled. Kenma furrowed his eyebrows and shook his head.
The blonde and black-root haired boy shut his eyes. A slip of a tear crawled down from the corners of his eye and made its way to his lips. (F/n) gave a small gasp and reached out to wipe his tear. Kenma shivered slightly, tilting his head a little into her hand.
(F/n) gave a soft giggle and patted his cheek. She leaned and placed a kiss on his cheek. Tears slid down his face more quickly. The smile dropped from (F/n)'s face as she hugged him. She gently stroke his back as he let tears fall onto her shoulder. (F/n) gently held his hand in reassurance.
There was a knock at the door. Kuroo entered the dark room in an uncomfortable suit. "Kenma, it's time," he said quietly, unlike his usual boisterous, obnoxious self. (F/n) tilted her head in confusion. Time for what?
Kenma gave another long sigh. He glanced at the monitor screen with the large lettering of "GAME OVER" on it. "Ken-chan?" (F/n) whispered. Kenma's ears perked up and he turned to face her. His eyes lit up in hopefulness but dimmed in disappointment. Ken-chan...
"I-I'll be down in a minute," Kenma said.
"That's what you said an hour ago. It's time to let go. Do you think (F/n) would want you continue moping around?" Kuroo scolded. (F/n) let go of Kenma's hand. Why was Kuroo talking as if she wasn't there?
Kenma was silent. His hands twitched slightly. Giving another long sigh, he nodded. "Okay. Okay, I'm ready..."
Kuroo gently led his best friend downstairs. (F/n) followed after them, curious at what was going on. Everyone in the living room was wearing black formal outfits. The air was solemn and tense. Even (F/n)'s normally bubbly (family member) was silent. Eyes were red as they tried to smile at Kenma.
"Kenma-kun, where's your suit?" his mum asked. Kenma shot his mother a glare which stunned everyone in the room.
"The suit was meant for our wedding. Not for... Not for..."
The room turned quiet. (F/n) stood still. Not for what? "I'm sorry, Kenma. I should be more tactful but this whole thing has taken us by shock too," Mrs Kozume apologised. Kenma gave a grunt.
"I guess it's time to go?" (F/n)'s mum spoke up. (F/n) furrowed her eyebrows in confusion and followed the people in the room out of Kenma's house.
Reaching the gates of a church, everyone entered including (F/n). (F/n) marvelled the church. This was the church she and Kenma had chosen to hold their wedding. At the far end of the room was a coffin. (F/n) stood beside Kenma who looked reluctant to go there as the rest did. Kuroo beckoned him over and he hesitantly did so.
(F/n) followed him, a feeling of dread churned in her stomach. Approaching the coffin, (F/n) gasped at the sight of her sleeping peacefully with a soft smile. Kenma lightly traced his hands on the the cover of the coffin.
"It's okay if you want to touch her," Kuroo said gently, already lifting the cover.
Kenma lifted (F/n)'s cold hands. (F/n) understood completely at why Kenma looked so upset, why everyone was wearing dark suits and dresses, why everyone ignored her.
She was dead.
Kenma gave a soft cry. (F/n) placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. Tears slid down from her eyes as well. I'm sorry, Ken-chan. I'm so sorry...
The priest gave a short speech before letting the family members and close friends gave theirs as well. "Finally, may we invite (L/n)-san's special friend up?"
Kenma took his time shuffling his way up to the pew. (F/n) sat at the top of the coffin listening to the things everyone said about her. Kenma was silent, frozen at the sight of the many faces in the crowd, familiar and not.
"H-hi, I'm Kozume Kenma... (F/n)'s fiance..." that was all he could say before stopping. He couldn't continue on. He couldn't let go. (F/n) walked up to him at the pew.
She willed herself to make herself visible in front of Kenma. "Ken-chan..." she cooed. Kenma's eyes widened at the sight of her. (F/n) gave a soft, loving smile. She placed her hand lightly on his cheek, caressing it gently. She rubbed away the tears that ran down his cheeks.
"Gomen, Ken-chan... that this church is used for my death instead of our wedding. I'm sorry for being so selfish. I'm sorry I can't walk down this isle and at the end say "I do". I'm sorry that I'm telling you to go on. I'm so sorry for leaving you behind. Please let me go..." (F/n) choked back a sob as she wiped his tears. She placed a soft kiss on his lips.
Taking a step back, she gave a bitter smile and turned away, fading away as she walked away on the isle that was meant for her wedding.
