Oikawa Tooru x Reader (Too late?)

They got back together. As much as (F/n) wanted to stay away from the Oikawa drama, the truthful rumors would end up stored into her brain.

Oikawa felt a little difference in his relationship with (h/g/n) but he couldn't pinpoint the source that kept nagging at the back of his head. Regarding it as unimportant, he turned his attention to try and please (h/g/n) for a unbreakable relationship.

However, this time, he couldn't tell (F/n) of how his relationship went. Only to Iwaizumi who quickly got tired of it. Oikawa felt guilty of slapping one of his closest comrade, thus ruining a valuable friendship but ignored it in the end for the sake of his girlfriend.

(F/n) stayed away from him like a plague. Iwaizumi noticed the obvious tension between the two of them. He was proven correct on one occasion when Oikawa wanted to tell her of his relationship only to receive a blank stare.

"Erm, excuse me... Who are you? I certainly don't recall giving anyone the permission to call me by my given name." This of course shocked Iwaizumi but secretly he was pleased.

You see, Iwaizumi had a Mega huge crush on our lovely heroine, (L/n) (F/n). However, with the amount of time she spent on checking on Oikawa during crucial times only, Iwaizumi never got the chance to confess.

That and the fact she had an obvious crush on Oikawa no matter how perfectly she hid it. Only close friends like Iwaizumi managed to see pass her barrier.

"(L/n)-San. You're not eating with us today?" Iwaizumi asked, catching her before she could dash off to the school roof. (H/g/n) shot her a malicious glare behind his back while Oikawa had a wide grin with his eyes closed, so he didn't see that ugly expression.

"I wouldn't want to interrupt the lovebirds' quality time," (F/n) said coldly. Taking his chance, Iwaizumi smoothly suggested that he could accompany her, agreeing that the duo wanted to spend time together which was whole-heartedly supported by (h/g/n).

Oikawa's smile faltered slightly. His gaze burnt intently at Iwaizumi's head who promptly ignore him. (F/n) nodded to Iwaizumi's suggestion, much to his delight.

Oikawa felt a strange feeling in his stomach.  He wasn't getting sick was he? The good-looking setter brushed it off, waving to his best friend and former friend.

Sitting on the roof, Iwaizumi fidgeted. This was his chance. "So, -uh- (L/n)-San... I liked you for a long time now. Please be my girlfriend?" he asked.

(F/n) stared at him for the longest time. Sure, he was handsome, nice, a bit aggressive and sensible...

But... he wasn't Oikawa.

(F/n) shook herself from that thoughts. She was over Oikawa. She had enough of him choosing a fake girl over his closest friend who shared stupid secrets and promises with.

Leaning forward, she made her decision. She planted a small kiss on Iwaizumi's cheek and gave a small smile.

"Please take care of me, Hajime-kun..."

With a grin, (F/n) thought that she could learn to love the more sensible boy.

And Oikawa was in for a surprise.

Opening the door, (F/n) entered the gym after weeks of not coming. Oikawa's eyes lit up, thinking she had forgiven him.

"(F/n)-cha --,"

He was rudely cut off when the young (h/c)-ette brushed past him towards Iwaizumi's waiting arms with a wide smile Oikawa had hardly seen ever since he started dating (h/g/n).

(F/n) gave a loving kiss to Iwaizumi, telling him that she would wait for him to go home. Oikawa looked on in surprise. Since when did Iwaizumi and his former comrade started being so lovey-dovey.

The sickening feel in his stomach came back stronger as ever. It burned in the pits of darkness which built up as Iwaizumi kissed her forehead, making her giggle. This feeling was of course, none other than jealousy.

"Iwa-Chan... I didn't know you and (F/n)-Chan are dating," Oikawa said with forced cheerfulness.

Iwaizumi scowled at him. "Please refrain yourself from calling her by her given name," he said drily.

"Eh? But you didn't mind before!"

"That was back then, Trashykawa. Now is different. "

"How so?" Oikawa said, trying to regain some of his sanity from the confusion. Iwaizumi scowled deeper at his ignorance.

"If you pay more attention, then you would understand. Just to make it clear, buzz off. She's mine," Iwaizumi said cooly.

Oikawa could only stare dumbfounded. Iwaizumi's facial expression turned 180° when (F/n) approached him, ignoring her ex-best buddy.

"Let's go home! Oh, let's get ice cream on the way. My treat!" (F/n) said cheerfully, grabbing her boyfriend by the hand.

Oikawa stared at the back of (F/n) and Iwaizumi. The feeling of jealousy crashed into him like a ton of bricks. Make it ten tons.

"Oi, Oikawa. Why are you crying?" Hanamaki asked. "Not up to girlfriend's expectation?" he sneered. Yep, he didn't like (h/g/n) too.

Oikawa touched his eyes to feel some dampness. With a jolt, he realized how stupid he had been.

He lost a good friend, destroyed their treasured friendship, only to realize he loved her more than just friends and lose her completely.

Was it too late for him to fix everything again?
