Akaashi sighed as he sat on the swing. He looked troubled, swinging himself gently as he thought of whatever troubled him. He was so deep in thoughts that he had not noticed (F/n) sitting next to him.

"So... is it (r/g/n) again?" she spoke up, startling the normally composed male. Akaashi blinked owlishly at the gentle girl as she smiled at him. He looked away and mumbled a soft, "yeah..." (F/n) was silent before she gave a soft, slightly bitter chuckle. "Huh... Figures."

(F/n) knew that Akaashi liked (r/g/n), a good friend of theirs, who was infuriated with Bokuto. It was so bloody obvious to everyone except (r/g/n) and most probably Bokuto. "So... do you wanna vent?" (F/n) suggested softly.

Akaashi took a deep breath before starting, "What does (r/g/n) sees in Bokuto-san? I mean he's loud, cheerful, fun to be around..." Akaashi's voice trailed off.

"He doesn't appreciate her as much as you do yet she likes him anyways, how can she like him and not you, and how you do so much for her yet she doesn't seem to hold some romantic feelings for you?" (F/n) continued for him. Akaashi nodded, holding the swing chain tightly.

"Remember that time Bokuto and her went partying? Bokuto somehow forgotten her. She called me to pick her up and like the gentleman I was, I did. And the other time she got a lot of failing grades, I helped her to pull them up. I did so many things for her and somehow she doesn't feel that way for me. I guess that's what everyone says... nice guys finishes last," Akaashi sighed towards the end as he told (F/n) of the many things he had done for (r/g/n) like a nice guy would.

(F/n) stared up to the sky. "Sounds a whole lot familiar to me," she laughed lightly. "Well, I hope I'm not offending you or anything, but why chase someone who's not interested you in that way? There are plenty of fishes in the sea and who knows, the girl who appreciates you better is right around the corner?" (F/n) advised.

She looked back at Akaashi, a small strained smile on her lips. "And you know what? Being a nice girl sucks too," she added before brushing imaginary dust off her jeans. "Let's go get ice-cream. My treat," she grinned before walking away quickly.

Akaashi furrowed his eyebrows and chased after the girl. "Wait, (L/n)-san... What do you mean?" he asked.

"Hmm? What? Oh... I said, being a nice girl sucks too. I can't get the guy I like to notice me that way you know..." she huffed. "So, what flavor do you want?"

"Is it Bokuto-san?"

"Ah. No. And you didn't answer my question, Akaashi. What flavor ice-cream do you want?"

"(L/n)-san... what do you mean?" Akaashi asked firmly. The goofy smile on (F/n)'s face faltered.

"God, you're so dense, aren't you? Well, I don't blame you since you're so in love with (r/g/n). She's so stupid not to realize a perfect guy like you," she mumbled. Giving Akaashi another soft smile, she patted his shoulder.

"Sometimes in a messy romance plot, nice girls are the ones that finish last."
