Chapter 1
Luke Morgan walked onto the street, black tie and loafers. He looked at a large church with a huge cross on it. He'd heard stories about Jesus back when he was a little boy. His father would talk about how God always has plans for everyone, and God's always right. At first Luke thought he was correct, but then crap happened. His mother died, his brother died, and now he was going to the funeral of someone he cared about. The lights he saw were supposed to suppress evil, but the evil already came two nights ago.
He watched as people dressed in black walked towards the church. He remembered Alex McNamara told him to bring orchids since it was her favorite flower. Luke didn't listen, so he brought a red rose instead. He remembered her mentioning on how she liked red roses, not orchids. He'd known her longer than Alex.
He walked towards the church and was given a necklace full of flowers. He held the necklace and took a seat in the back of the church. He sat on the wooden bench while everybody else went towards the front. He looked at the back hallway and saw Jessie Rollins being spoken to by many. She had her red hair tied up and wore a black dress that went down to her knees.
Through the hall walked in Jenna Carter and Jax Hart, and they weren't even invited to the funeral. In fact, both of them tried to kill her numerous times. Jax walked in with a smirk on his face, which infuriated Luke. He shouldn't even be here.
He saw Nicholas Lin and Hope Lancaster walk in. Hope's blue eyes were swollen and puffy as if she'd been crying for days. She had her hair tied back as Nick was staring at Jax, shocked that he was here. After Nick came Alex, except Alex stormed in. Alex walked right up to Jax and stood in his way.
"Excuse me, Alexander," Jax said, politely. "I'm trying to pay my respects to the victim."
"YOU ASSHOLE!" Alex shouted right at him, angrily. "YOU KILLED HER!"
Luke looked over and Hope and Nick. Hope looked overwhelmed while Nick tried to calm her down. He saw Nick leave Hope and walk over towards Alex. Luke followed him and tried to pull Alex away from Jax.
"Watch yourself, Alex," Jenna warned him.
"SHUT UP!" Alex screamed at her. "YOU BOTH KILLED HER! YOU KNEW SHE WAS CATCHING UP TO YOU! SO, YOU BOTH GRABBED HER AND KILLED HER THE DAY OF MY UNCLE'S ENGAGEMENT PARTY!"
Luke remembered what he was talking about. He felt guilty letting her get herself killed. She was trying too hard to help everyone else find Felix, but got herself killed in the process. The more he thought about her, the more he felt the need to kill someone. The next thing he saw was Alex punch Jax in the face, causing him to stagger back. Luke saw Alex's parents drag him away as he began to curse at the both of them, saying words that were not meant to be repeated. He watched Alex collapse on the way outside, letting his sorrow overtake him too far. Luke and his friends watched with shock and confusion about how intense everything got. Luke knew that it was too late to change the past. It didn't matter to him anymore
