Chapter 5

(Steph's POV)

Alex Xavier Vega.

Paulit ulit kong naririnig sa utak na parang sirang plaka. Nakakarindi!

"Ugh!" Ungol ko bago pa ako bumagsak uli ng kama. 

"Aww" Dugtong ko pa, at nakalimutan kong marami nga pala akong sakit sa katawan matapos ang nanyare. 

I looked up my bedroom ceiling while hugging my pillow. Hindi ko pinaalam sa mga kasambahay namin, sa mga kapatid ko o sa mga magulang ko ang nanyare. Wala ring namang mabuting idudulot 'yon. 

If I tell them, I know the situation will only get worse. Baka magpadala sila ng rep sa school and cost me the remaining peace I have as a student in XA. 

Siguro naman at titigil na rin si Casandra at nailabas niya na ang sama ng loob niya sakin. She has nothing else against me. Kung si Christof lang naman ang dahilan, edi wala na diba? That was the only encounter I had with him and surely will be the only encounter I will have with him.  

If I stay low and keep to myself it should be all good. 

"You're blushing, are you okay?" 

Napapikit uli ako ng mariin ng maalala kung gaano siya kalapit non sa akin. I remember how his face looked up close and how lightly he touched my chin. He looks attractive from afar but I didn't know he could look a thousand times better up close. 

My stomach started feeling like it was in a whirl, my heart started beating fast and my face started to feel flushed. Ahh ano ba yan ito nanaman!

Ano ba tong nararamdam ko! Napatabon nalang ako ng muhka gamit ang unan ko. 

"If she bothers you again, I wrote my number in one of your notebooks"

Oh my gosh. That's right! He left his phone number in one of my notebooks! 

Napabalikwas ako ng bangon at 'di nalang pinansin ang sakit ng katawan ko. I sprinted to where my school bag was and looked through all my notebooks and their pages. Ng mahanap ko ang phone number niya ay mas lalong lumala ang pagtibok ng dibdib ko. 

"He actually gave me his number.." I whispered to myself. I tried pursing my lips to stop myself from smiling but I couldn't! 

I grabbed my phone and saved his number under Alex Xavier Vega. I've never had anyone's phone number unless it was needed for a school group project. And even then, I delete their numbers promptly after a project, so this is very new to me. 

Akala ko ay suplado siya at ang cold kasi niyang tingnan pero parang hindi naman pala? Well actually, ang cold niya parin naman talaga, at ang unti lang magsalita.

I looked at his name on my phone and bit my lip. 

I still can't believe he gave me his number. I still can't believe he helped me when I was being hurt. I still can't believe someone would that, better yet, him. 

It feels too good to be true.

(Xavier's POV)

I held her chin and moved them from side to side. She has bruises on both sides of face, I'm guessing from being held on the jaw? Muhka kasing marka ng daliri. 

I knew Casandra still has a thing for Christof but I didn't know it was to the point of her willingly hurting somebody. This girl's lucky I decided I wanted to work in that section of the library, kung hindi ay siguro patuloy lang siyang sinaktan ni Cass.

I continued to look at her face. It's weird being this up close to someone I'm not attracted to. 

But then I looked at her eyes and saw how pretty they were. I guess she has some good features to her too.

I let out a small smirk when I saw how red she was starting to get. She started blinking a lot and looked away. I let go, knowing that my actions were starting to make her feel a certain way. 

I couldn't help but smile a little "You're blushing, are you okay?"  I teased. I didn't know it would be this easy. 

She nodded and drank the water I put in her bedside "You have slight bruising on your jaw and below your ears" I continued. She's probably in pain and doesn't realize how badly she was actually physically hurt. 

Lagi ba tong binubully ng ganito? Is she so timid that she doesn't know how to fight back?

Her eyes widened and she promptly used her hands to cover her jaw while pouting. 

Pft. I was caught off guard and chuckled at her reaction. I don't know what's weirder? Her pouting like a baby or me actually chuckling and enjoying this? 

I mentally shook my head and decided I'm going to leave. From saving her in the library, bringing her here, going back to get her glasses and being with her here? She's starting to take a little too much of my time.

"If she bothers you again, I wrote my number in one of your notebooks" I told her not caring for how she was going to react to what I said. 

"A-aalis ka na?" I heard her ask, to which I shortly answered "Hmm." 

"Saglit! A-anong pangalan mo?"

"Alex Xavier Vega"  I said and left the room.

"Damn Xavier!" sabay na hirit ni Dayne at Adrian pagkatapos kong ikwento sa kanila ang nanyari

"Well shit, I guess nahuhuli na ako" dugtong naman ni Christof

I shook my head. Nandito nanaman kami sa bar ni Dayne tumatambay. Ever since he opened this place, it became our hangout spot. Free drinks and good leisure I guess?

"Dude kailangan galingan mo!" Adrian told Christof "He literally gave out his number seamlessly!" he continued 

"Ang smooth mo, tol" Dayne said and raised his glass to me

"Agreed" then Adrian let his glass hit Dayne's.

I continued to drink and wondered if she'll actually need to contact me and what I shoud do if she doesn't? 

"But Chris," Dayne started "Is Cass really that into you that she would bully someone physically? Akala ko talaga puro salita lang siya!" he asked. I looked at Christof to see his reaction.

He shrugged and looked curious for the answer as well "She needs to move on" was all he said before taking his shot of liquor 

IT WAS 1AM when I finally got back to my condominium. It was Friday night so we stayed out late. If I'm being honest though, 1AM is too early for us to end the night but we all have plans for tomorrow. 

The moment I got back I immediately went inside my room.

I opened the door and didn't bother to change. Humiga agad ako sa kama at ihinilamos ang palad ko sa muhka ko. I looked at my phone and saw messages from the girls I talk to before and the girl I made out with tonight. I sighed and deleted the notifications afterwards. 

I had fun in the bar tonight. But I'm sure Dayne, Adrian and especially Christof had more fun than I did. Baka sa iba ibang kama na nakaabot yung tatlong yon.

I smirked and scrolled through my phone again. I shouldnt be doing this but God I miss her. I checked my photos and found a picture of a girl that caught my attention.

The girl that turned me into a stone and a cold person. She's the reason why I can't take any girl seriously. 

I swiped to check the next photo. Her smile. Her bright eyes. Her pale complexion. She had her arms wrapped around my neck tiptoeing to reach my height. Tiningnan ko ren yung sarili ko and hissed. I was smiling too because of her. I turned my phone off and threw it to my bedside, hoping whatever feelings I have left of her could be thrown away too.
