Next day

It rings on the doorbell and Marshall walks out and opens. I've been looking forward to see the girls again and today we're just gonna have a day with the girls. Marshall promised me not to go in the studio so we all could be together. Marshall tends to seek to the studio when he gets a little bored, like when the girls wants to sit down and just watch some TV and today he promised me that he wasn't gonna do that, and I promised him that I would try to keep us all active so we don't just sit on the couch and watch TV so he won't get bored.
Hailie and Alaina comes running in and they hug Marshall who squats down and hug them both. I look at Kim who just looks at me with Whitney on her arm. Even though me and her talked a lot the day she picked me up then it hasn't changed much between us. I know that I have to take small steps with her and that she has to adjust to the feeling of me and Marshall being together, she also has to get used to the fact that I'm around her girls. I understand her in someway, I don't think it's the greatest feeling that your ex husband finds a new girlfriend and that she has to get involved with your kids.
"Amelia!" Hailie says and both her and Alaina now run over and hug me.
"Hi girls, how are you?" I ask them.
"I've missed you." Hailie says which really softens my heart.
"Me too." Alaina says. I now look up at Marshall who looks at us with a smile. I don't dare to look at Kim because I already know that I'm not gonna get a smile from her.
"I've missed you too." I say to them.
"Your mom called me." Kim now says which makes Marshall looks at her with a confused look.
"She called you? Why would she call you?" He asks.
"Marshall." Kim sighs. "You know she calls me because you won't talk to her."
"What did she want?" Marshall asks.
"She's heard about you and Amelia being back together." Kim tells him.
"It surprises me that she even remembers her." Marshall says.
"She wanted you to know how sorry she is about what Amelia just went through and she wishes you both the best." Kim tells him now. I think it's sweet that Debbie sends a message like that but I know it annoys Marshall. I know that he has too much hate towards her to think it's nice of her.
"Wow she must have been in a good mood." Marshall says.
"Not really, she was crying a lot Marshall. She misses you and she misses Nathan." Kim says and I know that her words are gonna piss Marshall off.
"She made her own bed." Marshall says and turns around to me now. "Baby, why don't you take the kids into the living room or something for a minute?" He asks me. I know that it's because he doesn't want the girls to hear more of this conversation. I'm curious about this but I just hope that Marshall will update me later.
"Of course." I say. Kim now hands me Whitney and I disappear with all of them 3 girls into the living room. We sit down on the couch and I have Whitney on my lap and Alaina and Hailie on each side of me. "So girls.. What do you wanna do today?" I ask them.
"Can we please bake?" Hailie asks.
"We can do that tonight but I was thinking that we could play some games that dad could be a part of too." I suggest.
"Dad likes to play basket." Hailie says.
"Do you like to play basket?" I ask them as this isn't about what Marshall wants but what they want.
"I rather play tennis." Alaina says.
"I wanna play basket." Hailie says.
"Okay girls, we can play both. First we can play some tennis and then we can play some basket. How does that sound?" I ask them.
"That's fair." Alaina says and Hailie nods.
"But what about Whitney?" Hailie asks. "She can't play tennis and basket."
"No but I think she would like to watch." I say and look down at Whitney. "Don't you think?" I then ask them.
"Maybe." Hailie shrugs.
"I think she'll think it's okay." I say smiling.

We sit here on the couch for a while and talk about all sorts of things while Marshall and Kim talk in the hallway. I'm curious as hell, specially because Marshall rarely wanna talk about his mom with me, so I don't know much about what's going on between them and I bet that Marshall isn't gonna share what's going on this time as well.

Suddenly Marshall walks into the living room and I see that he tries to put on a fake smile but I see right through it. I can see that the talk with Kim bothers him still and I just don't hope that it's not gonna affect our day with the girls.
"What's up? What's the plan?" Marshall asks us.
"We're gonna play tennis and then basket." Hailie hurries to tell her dad and Marshall begins to chuckle.
"I can tell that you didn't have much to say in this." Marshall says followed with another chuckle.
"I don't mind." I say smiling.
"We have to split up in two teams." Marshall says. "So who wants to be with Amelia?" He asks.
"Me!" Alaina immediately says.
"Alright, Hailie you're with me then." Marshall says and we all head outside. I place Whitney down in the baby carriage outside and then we walk towards the tennis court. "We're so gonna kick their butts." I hear Marshall say behind us to Hailie.
"You're going dooown!" Alaina says as she turns around and look at Marshall and Hailie. Both me and Marshall can't help but laugh.
"Laney, I'm sorry to say it but you picked the wrong team. Amelia is so bad at sports." Marshall says which makes me turn around and look at him.
"I'm not!" I gasp. I was really good at volleyball when I was younger and he knows that.
"You're not?" Marshall chuckles. "I remember how bad you used to be when we all played basket." He reminds me. That wasn't because I was bad but because Marshall, Deshaun and rest of the boys were so much bigger than me and they didn't play fair.
"Because you guys never played fair." I remind him.
"You were the only one who complained." Marshall says which makes me look down at Alaina. Marshall knows what a competitor I am so he loves to challenge me like this.
"We're gonna make uncle Marshall cry like a baby when we're done with him, right?" I ask Alaina.
"Yeah he's gonna cry like the little baby he is." Alaina giggles.
"What did you just say?" Marshall gasps at Alaina's words but he can't help but laugh. Alaina doesn't answer but she just laughs.
"She called you a baby." Hailie now says.
"That's what I thought." Marshall says as he walks over to us. Alaina immediately hides behind me and I cover her, holding my hands as far as I can reach around her to protect her.
"I'm gonna teach you not to talk like that to your uncle." Marshall teases her as he tries to grab her, but I turn around and Alaina follows me around so Marshall can't reach her. He tries again but me and Alaina do the same thing again.
"You're brave baby." Marshall says to me.
"Why? She was right." I challenge him as well. Marshall now grabs me and tackles me to the ground, he then sits on top of me and holds my hands so I can't break free. "Marshall!" I scream but I can't help but laughing.
"Imma baby?" Marshall asks me.
"You're a big baby now." I laugh which makes him tickle me. "Marshall stop!" I laugh while screaming but that doesn't make him stop. "Laney, help me!" Alaina now jumps on his back.
"Get away from her!" Alaina laughs. Marshall now pulls Alaina over her shoulder and lay her down next to me where he tickles her. I try to pull Marshall away but then Hailie comes and helps Marshall. We all end up laying down on the ground tickling each other. We fight for the power and of course Marshall and Hailie end up winning but only because Marshall is so much stronger.
We walk over to the tennis court and we begin to play. Me and Alaina are so good at this game and we really beat Marshall and Hailie's asses because Marshall is so bad at this compared to me and Alaina.
"Who was bad at sport?" I ask Marshall provoking him as the score is 10/28 to me and Alaina.
"Don't get smart baby." Marshall says with a smirk.
"I'm sorry, what?" I ask as I put my hand up behind my ear. "I can't hear you because you're so far behind." I say which makes Alaina burst out in laughter.
"You're playing with fire." Marshall chuckles.
"Just wait until we're playing basketball." Hailie says.
"Yeah then you're gonna cry like babies." Marshall says.
"We're so scared now." Alaina says sarcastically which makes me give her a high five.
"You're a bad influence on her, you know that, right?" Marshall asks me.
"Like you're so much better." I laugh and he sends me that look which tells me that I'm gonna pay for that comment later.
We play the match and of course me and Alaina wins and then Marshall wanna play basket. But before that I put Whitney up in bed because she needs to take a nap now. I walk back down and Marshall, Hailie and Alaina is already ready.
"Are you ready to lose?" Marshall asks me as I walk towards them.
"Are you?" I giggle.
"You can't beat me at this game." Marshall says.
"Watch me." I challenge him. Marshall looks at me in this sexy way and I don't think it's meant to be sexy, but I find it sexy when he shows me with the way he looks at me that I've provoked him enough already.
We begin to play and Marshall and Hailie rocks at this but as the competitor I am then I won't let him win so I begin to play hard. I begin to do small things that maybe is a little over the line like giving Marshall an elbow when he tries to take the ball from me. Suddenly Marshall tries to take the ball and he has me catch up in a grip, I guess he's paying me back a little with the cheating and now he doesn't play fair either.
"You're cheating!" I laugh as I hug the ball into my body.
"I'm cheating?!" Marshall laughs as he still tries to take the ball. "What do you call your way of playing?"
"A little aggressive." I say. I now lay down on the ground as Marshall really tries to bash it out of my hands now, so my only option is to lay on top of the ball now.
"Really?" Marshall asks. "You're so childish." He laughs as he begins to tickle me to get me away from the ball.
"Marshall stop!" I laugh. I look to my side and I see that Hailie and Alaina are watching us now, they just let me and Marshall play our own game but I can see that they enjoy watching.
"Stop cheating." Marshall laughs as he turns me on the back and take the ball. I hurry up as I already can see Marshall running. I catch up behind him and jump on his back which makes both of us fall to the ground. I guess Marshall didn't expect me to do that so that's why we collapsed to the ground.
"What the hell Amelia." He laughs. "You can't just jump me like that."
"Give me the ball." I say as I sit on his back and try to get the ball out of his hand. Marshall turns around even with me on top which makes me fall off him. We're both laughing like crazy right now and so are the girls.
"How could we possible think us competing against each other would be a good idea?" Marshall chuckles. Both me and Marshall are so much competitors and we should have predict this.
"We're so bad role models." I laugh.
"Tell me about it." Marshall chuckles.
We decide to go to the playground and play instead, do something where me and Marshall don't compete against each other. We have some good hours on the playground and I can tell we're all enjoying it.
Afterwards me and the kids bake a cake like I promised them we would and after dinner we all sit down and watch some tv. Marshall promised me to just and sit and watch some tv with them even though he gets easily bored by it, but I know that he'll do everything for the girls so that's what he's doing now. We sit on the couch looking like one big happy family; Hailie and Alaina are sitting in Marshall's lap as Whitney is sitting in my lap. We just eat some cake and watch cartoon and I don't think I've ever felt so happy in my entire life as I feel right at this moment.

When it gets late me and Marshall put the girls to bed which gives us a little grown up time. We cuddle on the couch and watch some tv, I have so many questions about him and Kim's conversation today but I have no idea how to ask.
"Today has been a really good day." Marshall says as we lay there cuddling on the couch.
"It really has." I say and I feel him drag me closer to him so my back is cuddled up against his chest.
"Do you remember how you told me that you were bad with kids?" He asks.
"Yes and I still am." I giggle.
"You must do something right because my girls adore you." He says.
"Apparently." I giggle and there's a moment of silence. Now I just can't keep my mouth shut anymore. "What was that with your mom?"
"Can we please not talk about that? I don't wanna ruin a perfect day." Marshall sighs.
"I'm sorry, but you never wanna talk about it." I push it.
"Please Amelia, I fucking beg you. Not now." He says.
"Okay. I'm sorry." I say. Marshall just kisses my neck which tells me that it's okay.
