Aboard on the bullet train back to Zootopia, Nick was resting on the railing, contemplating what just happened. He peered at Judy a couple of times, too nervous and scared to talk to her. Judy was resting her arms on the railing too, looking the opposite direction from him. Her thoughts kept flooding with whys. Why did her parents do this to her? Why would they try to hurt Nick? Why did her father act so harsh towards her?
With so many questions filling to the brim, it made Judy's eyes water. She tried to hold them in, hoping that Nick wouldn't unleash the crying within her.
Feeling as though the awkward silence was killing them, Nick tried to speak up.
"Hey, Judy?" He began. "What happened back there?"
Stunned by his question, Judy looked up, but never faced his direction. Please stop please stop please stop...she repeated in her head.
"Judy?" Nick spoke once more. "Are you okay?"
Judy's ears dropped even more hearing him ask such a sensitive question. Her eyes began to trail away with tears down her furry cheeks. She covered them, sulking.
Nick panicked, not knowing what just happened. "W-What's wrong Carrot? Did I say something to offend you?" He took Judy's shoulders, turning her around, and embraced her. Judy shook her head, wrapping her arms around him and snuggled her head into his chest. Nick feared that Judy began crying because of him asking her such a thing. "I'm sorry; I didn't mean to make you cry."
"-no!"
"No?" He repeated, looking down at her, and rubbing her head to cool her down.
"I just don't understand how my parents could have done such a thing! T-To try and kill you right in front of my face!"
Nick's ears fell from being reminded about it. His thoughts skimmed into a faze, wondering what would have happened if he had died right there or in the middle of the night, scaring Judy half---if not entirely---to death. What would she have done to her parents? To herself? Meditating really hard ached Nick's heart and he tightened his hug around her.
"Shh...don't cry anymore Judy. It pains me to see you like this."
Judy wiped her eyes, but refused to look at him. "Judy, look at me please?"
Judy shook her head.
"Come on."
She stared.
Nick gently nudged her chin up to his and glanced into her eyes. "It's over now Judy. You shouldn't allow what they have done to keep you sad anymore."
"But it still bothers me...how can my own parents...my own family do that?"
Nick was at a loss for words. He couldn't even explain the strange behavior of such ones. "I don't know, Judy..." He kissed her forehead gently, and rubbed his mouth on her head. Judy then looked up at Nick, who glanced at her a bit side eyed. "What?" She questioned curiously.
Nick slowly leaned his head down towards hers, pecking hers lips. Judy blushed profusely.
"N-Nick!!!" She gasped.
She couldn't really see Nick's expression being how dark it was on the train, but by the way his eyes shined from the moonlight, she finally realized that them being alone like this was bound to spark some romance between them. Judy, not sure if she was feeling it, tried to move away casually. But as she did, Nick moved a step closer, holding her hands. "Judy..."
Judy's eyes scattered all over, just not directly at Nick. Nervous to respond she glanced at him only once, then turned away. Nick hugged her tightly once more sighing to himself.
