Chapter 23 (:
-Keshia's POV-
Kieran was also coming to New Zealand and just my luck, when we had to stop over at a country, his seat number was beside me. We did things together in the airport, like eat and go to the customs together. He's a pretty cool guy, I have to admit. I find it easy to hang around him.
I told him all of my problems - why I left England and what happened in England. It's quite amazing how he listened to my problems and didn't judge me about them and also, it's amazing how he's only a stranger and he actually listened to me, babbling about my problems.
Kieran also lives in England but being me, I forgot which part of England he is from. Throughout the whole flight we would talk to each other and get to know each other better and fool around. He found out my weakness and that is being tickled.
I found out that he's 17 - a year older than me - and that he's very eager to visit New Zealand as he heard that it's a wonderful country. I also found out that his parents apparently work here in Auckland but he doesn't know what the company is called.
We've finally landed and got through the customs. We are now sitting down on the waiting shed and patiently waited for people to pick us up. Wait, no-one actually knows that I'm here in Auckland - oh great. I took my trench coat off as it was summer here in New Zealand.
"Um, Kieran," I started.
"Hmm?"
"I forgot to tell my Mom or Dad to pick me up," I groaned.
He chuckled. "It's fine. I'll just ask to drop you off. . If that's alright with you."
"Oh! That would be lovely, thanks," I said and smiled at him.
Ever since I've been with him, I've been smiling lately. It's fun being around him. I feel like I'm my usual self again but without my friends.
After a few minutes of chit-chat, a man in a black suit went up to us. Kieran stood up and hugged him in a manly hug.
"Dad, this is Keshia, Keshia Reyes," He introduced me to his Dad.
"It's good to see you, Mr. Johnson," I politely said, smiling at him.
"Oh, please, call me Mark."
"Okay, it's nice to meet you, Mark," I grinned. From behind Mark, I saw Kieran grinning, too.
We started walking towards the parking lot until Matt spoke, "You look strangely familiar."
"Oh, really?" I asked, confused.
"Are you Richard Rivera's daughter?" Matt asked.
I nodded. "Yeah, he's my Dad."
He looked at me confusedly. "How come you have a different last name?"
I hesitated. "Well - "
"Dad," Kieran warned.
Matt gave Kieran a 'what' shrug which caused me to chuckle.
"No, actually, yeah, it's complicated," I tried to explain.
Mark nodded and went into the driver's seat of the Audi Q7.
Kieran helped me to get my luggage in the boot of the car since I couldn't carry it myself but I was beside him 'supporting' him.
"Sorry.. again!" I apologized for the one hundredth time.
Kieran chuckled. "Sorry for what?"
"Well, sorry for not being able to carry a 20 or more kilogram luggage and thanks."
