Chapter 26 (:
-Keshia’s POV-
It has now been a month since I’ve been here in the U.K. and today is the day that my parents are exchanging their vows and showing how much they love each other to people.
I knocked on my sister’s hotel door while I played with the key necklace that Harry got for me 5 years ago in Auckland. He gave it back to me last week after we made up and became friends again. We’re not going out but we’re more than best friends, too – if that makes any sense.
After several knocks, the door finally opened but it wasn’t Mariele who answered it, it was Louis.
“Lou,”I greeted him, surprised.
He smiled and kissed me on the cheek. “Hey, your sister’s inside the bathroom. Come in,” He said, opening the door wider for me to be able to walk through it.
“What are you doing here?” I asked, standing by the foot of the bed.
Louis coughed. “Um, your sister needed help with, uh, something,” He tried to make an excuse.
I burst out laughing. “Did you use protection?” I teased.
“Yes,” He answered quickly. “Wait, what?” He asked, face-palming his forehead.
I walked up to him and he stepped back. “Bye, Lou,” I said, closing the door in his face.
“I hate you!” He yelled.
“I love you, too!” I replied.
I heard him grumble, making me laugh even more and giving me an unbearable stitch.
After I’ve calmed down, I knocked on the bathroom door.
“Hey, it’s Keish. Can I come in?” I asked, still knocking on the door.
“Yep, just hold on a second,” She said.
I heard shuffling moves from the inside; she’s probably getting things tidy inside, as she knows I don’t like messy places. After a while, the door finally clicked open and revealed Mariele in her stunning bridesmaid’s dress that is identical to mine.
I walked in the bathroom in silence and we both stared at each other’s reflection on the big bathroom mirror.
Our hair was in an elegant loose chignon with a white mini bow clip. The dress that my Mom chose for her bridesmaid’s to wear is a purple, strapless dress that flows to the knee and has a loose line.
“We look beautiful,” I complimented.
Her face turned sour. “We look old.”
“But we look happy,” I quietly said.
She nodded. I went behind her back and did her ribbon in a perfect bow.
“Thanks,” She said.
I went beside her again and smiled at her through the mirror. “You’re welcome.”
She sighed and smiled again.
“What?” I asked.
She shook her head, her smile still plastered on her face.
“Tell me!” I insisted, a smile breaking through my lips.
She sighed. “It’s just, it’s been so fast! 21 years ago you weren’t born yet and now, we’re with the people we love. Five years ago you left us and left everyone broken. We’re in our 20’s now, Keish. It took Miranda and Dad 12 years to actually get married.”
