Sophie's POV
'See you later Simoné.' Sophie called as she shut the car door. She saw his scowl through the window and laughed as she walked towards her brother's front door. It was open, and Tom was stood just inside, his silhouette filling up the frame. Sophie's laughter died on her lips as she saw his stony expression, an ounce of fear creeping into her heart. She walked quickly into the house, aware that Simon was waiting until she was inside to leave. So considerate, if only he knew how much worse he's making this situation... she thought as she stepped past her brother into the hallway. He shut the door behind her with more force than was needed and she winced at the sound it made. 'Be back in about half an hour. That's what you said. 2 hours ago. After you leave without saying where you're going; never mind that you were leaving at all. You didn't have a phone, I had no way of contacting you, and you roll up now like you're having the time of your life, completely disregarding the fact I've been sat waiting for you to get here, worrying, wondering what the hell must have happened to make you so late. Turns out you were having too much fun to remember your poor little brother, huh? Is that how it is now? Meet all your stupid YouTubers and forget about me?'
He was shouting now, waving his hands around. Sophie stared at the ground, unable to lift her head and meet his eye. True, she had texted him 2 hours ago saying she was on her way home, but that was when she was under the impression she was leaving straight after her and Vik had gotten back to the Sidemen house; she hadn't expected to be invited inside by Josh, let alone stay and play Fifa with Simon. 'I'm sorry.' She said quietly, her words barely audible. He heard it though. 'Sorry?' He spat. 'That's all you have to say? For all I know you could have been kidnapped or worse. And you say sorry, like it's no big deal?' He had a point about leaving without telling him, but she was in a rush. And who was he to demand she tell him when and where she was going all the time anyway? She was 21 for Christ's sake, she could take care of herself.
'I really don't see why you're getting so worked up. I'm old enough to make my own decisions, you know. And you can't say you wouldn't jump at the chance to spend time with your favourite footballers or whatever. It's just the same. Fair enough I should have told you I was leaving, but I was in a rush. Nothing bad happened, next time I'll tell you before I leave so you don't go ape shit.' She raised her head, staring right at him as she spoke. 'Next time?' He chuckled. 'There won't be a next time. You came here to spend time with me. And that's what you're gonna do. You're not leaving this house unless you're leaving with me.' Sophie's eyebrows shot up, shock flooding her face, running through her veins. 'You're putting me on house arrest? Good joke. If you're gonna act like this I may as well go home.' She turned to leave, but he grabbed her arm with such strength she was sure he would leave a bruise. She winced at the pain shooting up her arm as he brought his face close to hers. 'You're. Not. Leaving.' He whispered menacingly, his breath flowing over her face. She leant backwards and yanked her arm from his grip before racing away to her designated room. Fighting back tears, she slammed her bedroom door shut, hoping he wouldn't follow her.
She sat on the bed and focused on controlling her breathing. It had become erratic and shallow, but instead of getting her inhaler, she decided to attempt to calm herself without it. After a few minutes, her breathing returned to normal, and she let herself fall backwards, exhaling loudly. She lay there for a while, thinking of the day's events. Her heart fluttered as she recalled her time with Vik, and a smile working its way across her face. Just the idea of him seemed to lift her mood. She wondered at what point she had begun to feel the way she did now, sure that she had never felt as strongly as she did now than before they'd actually met. It was scary, yet exciting at the same time. A million questions ran through her mind. What if he doesn't like me back? What if he does? What will his friends say? What will Tom say? What would my friends say, if they even cared...? The thought hit her like a wave, her mood spiralling downwards with every second she lingered on it. Then she remembered her newest friend; Milly. She had completely forgotten about her. Guilt filled her and she immediately went for her phone, unlocking it and searching for her contact, hoping it had been transferred with the rest of them. Just as she found it, a text came through. It was from Milly. Sophie raised her eyebrow at the coincidence as she tapped the notification to view it.
