Simon's POV
He was just finishing editing his last video when a knock at the door made him jump. No-one in this house knocks... He mused. ..must be Sophie. He concluded, calling for her to come in. 'Hey, can I talk to you about something?' She asks timidly, standing awkwardly in the doorway. Simon glanced over at her. Her clothes were rumpled, her hair was a mess and some of her makeup had smudged under her eyes. It almost looked like she'd been crying. A worried frown filled his face and he turned fully to look at her. 'Yeah, what's wrong?' He said, motioning for her to sit down on his bed. She moved slowly, shutting the door before sitting in front of him, her hands clasped tightly against her stomach. 'Earlier, I didn't exactly tell you everything and I probably should have.' She replied vaguely, not meeting his eyes. He raised his eyebrows. 'There's more?'
'Yeah. And I'm not sure you're going to like it.' She whispered, her voice barely audible.Simon eyed her warily. 'Is this about Vik? Because he's been acting...strange.' His mind went back to their encounter on the stairs and he winced at Vik's words. Something is definitely eating at him over her... He thought. Sophie nodded at him but didn't say anything. Perhaps she was too afraid to tell him; she wasn't the most revealing person. In fact she was exactly the opposite; he was surprised she had told him so much already. 'I just don't understand what his problem is; he was completely fine with me before he spoke to you. Now it's like he hates us both.' He said, shaking his head sadly.
'I don't know about that. Vik's not the type of person who would go from being good friends with someone to hating them outright because of one conversation. Sure, I wasn't exactly forthcoming but I have the right to keep some things to myself? I just thought he would understand that and not try to drag answers out of me. And yeah, I kinda messed up this morning when I kissed him-' Wait, what?'You kissed him?!' He almost yelled at her as his head exploded with questions. She winced slightly at his exclamation and his face fell apologetically. 'Only on the cheek; I just wanted to, um, express my gratitude for him being a friend when I needed one. That was all. I shouldn't have even gone that far, bad habit from a long time ago.' She hurried to explain. Simon's mind was still reeling from the information and he struggled to gather his thoughts. A noise from outside his room made him look up. Was someone there? He listened more closely but didn't hear any more 'I'll ignore that last part for now. Just tell me what happened. All of it, from the start.' She went to protest but he stopped her with a pointed look. She sighed and began. 'I guess it starts the day we met.
'From the off, Vik was there, making sure I was alright, especially when I felt like I was going to throw up. Then there was the whole thing in the parking lot but you know about that.' Simon nodded at her, remembering her explanation clearly. 'So yeah, I thought he was just being nice. It's how I expected him to be. Then when we went to the hospital the next day to visit Alan, he noticed that I don't like hospitals, which again you know why. He held my hand for the entire time, and honestly I don't think I could have managed it otherwise.' A small laugh escaped her lips and she looked down at her hands.
'Then you and JJ had that stupid fight about me, and I thought that was it. I didn't expect him to come after me; I didn't think anyone would. But he did; he helped me sort out getting a new phone by taking us to Westfield?' Simon nodded in confirmation. 'But I don't like crowds and I started having a panic attack. Again, he calmed me down and I was fine after that. I got my phone and spotted Nandos, which of course meant we had to go in. You can't just walk past it.' He chuckled in agreement. 'Don't forget we all owe you a week's worth. Make sure you milk it while you can.' She laughed. 'I will don't worry. Anyway, we spent ages in there just talking. I didn't even notice the time. We eventually had to leave cause he said he had to pick up food for the house after you guys wasted it all by throwing it on each other.' She said dryly. Simon chuckled, remembering the horrible evening.
