Four years later...
When we get to my parents house, Alex runs towards the door. The door flies open and my dad scoops him up in his arms and spins him. Hearing his giggle makes me smile. My mom takes him next and showers him with kisses. "Grandma and grandpa got you a present." She tells him.
"Toys!" Alex yells.
My dad gives him a snack to occupy him while they both hug me. "How was the trip?" My mom asks.
I shrug. "Not bad. We only stopped twice for a hotel room."
My dad raises his eyebrows. "You went to nice ones, right? I don't want you guys getting hurt."
I chuckle. "Yes dad."
He smiles. "Good. Come in."
We go into the living room and sit down. I give Alex his little bag of toys and he sits contently on the floor playing. "I don't want you guys to think this is permanent. We just need a place to stay until I can get a job and an apartment."
My mom frowns. "You're more then welcome to stay here. There's no rush to move out. I've only just got you back."
"I know mom." I yawn.
"Go get some sleep. We'll watch Alex and we can help you unpack the truck once you're well rested."
I nod. "Thanks mom. His bag is over there."
When I get downstairs to my old room I can't help but smile. Everything is exactly the way I left it four years ago. I crawl into my bed and fall into a deep sleep. I dream about my son, my future, and family.

"Mommy!" Alex yells.
"What's wrong, baby?" I ask, picking him up.
He lays his head on my shoulder and yawns. "I'm tired."
I kiss the top of his head. "I know, sweetie. We're going home soon."
I continue looking around with Alex in my arms. The place is great. I haven't told my parents yet, but I'm going to start my own business. This building is for sale and it's in a great spot, right in the middle of town. Above it is a two bedroom apartment. The walls are sound-proof so the sounds from downstairs can't be heard from upstairs. Alex and I will live upstairs while my business is downstairs. The downstairs is divided into two. During the day, one will be a restaurant but by night the other will be a bar.
While I was in college, I met this kid who was really into architecture and business. He comes from a rich family so he already has a few diners and a couple bars. But we talked and he said he would like to expand. He convinced me to consider being his business partner. So I agreed to look into buildings around here and I found this one.
We've talked about it a lot and he said if I run it, he'd fund it for a while. He said if I ever wanted out, he'd give me my cut and let me walk but that won't happen. I'm looking forward to this. I take out my phone and dial his number. "Mia." He answers happily.
"Hey Matt." I smile. "I found the perfect place."
He squeals in excitement, making me laugh. "I'm taking the jet. Set up an appointment for the morning and we'll go look at it together."
"Okay. I'll see you then."
Matt was my best friend throughout college. I was new and having a rough time but him and his parents took me in to help. I consider him and his parents my own family. They've helped me in so many was and I can never thank them enough. Saying goodbye was hard but he'll be here tomorrow so I'm happy.
I turn to the realtor lady with a smile. "Good news. My partner is on the way to his jet right now. He'll be here tonight but we want to look at it first thing in the morning. Make sure all of the papers are ready."
Her eyes widened when I said jet. But she quickly puts a big smile on her face. "Great. Is ten good for you?"
"Yes. We'll be here."
I put a now sleeping Alex in his car-seat then get in, starting the car. Someone knocks on my window, making me jump a mile. Steven stands outside the door with a big smile on his face. Smiling, I climb out of the car. "Steven." I say, pulling him into a hug.
"I thought that ass looked familiar." He smirks.
I laugh. "You haven't changed at all. How are you?"
"I'm great. But I'd be even better if you let me take you out tonight."
I bite my lip. "I really want to... But I just got back into town and I have a lot to do." I say. "Maybe some other time."
He nods. "Okay. But I'm gonna take your word on that."
"Okay."
"Where are you staying?" He asks.
"I'm back in the basement at my parents house." I chuckle. "At least until I find a place."
"Well if you need help with anything, just let me know."
"Thanks." I smile. "I will."
"And visit my family, too. They'll be happy to see you."
"I will. See ya."
I peck his cheek before getting back into the car. I'd love to visit his family. Only... I'm not sure about Tyler. We didn't leave things on a good page and I don't want things to be weird between us.
Pushing my thoughts aside, I head back to my parents house. I won't tell them about the business until we actually own the place. Carrying Alex, I put him in my bed for a nap. When I get back upstairs, I join my parents in the living room. "I ran into Steven today."
"Yeah?" My mom smiles. "Did you guys make plans?"
"He wanted to take me out tonight but I told him another night." I shrug. "I have to be up early tomorrow anyways."
She wiggles her eyebrows. "You've only been here for a few days and you've already been asked out."
I roll my eyes with a smile on my face. "He just wanted to hang out and I'm not looking to jump into a relationship. Plus, nobody's gonna want me if they know I have a son."
She frowns. "That's not true. When you find someone who truly loves you, they won't care."
I sigh. "Can you watch Alex in the morning?"
"Of course."
"Thanks."
I go downstairs and cuddle with the most important man in my life. He's the one I need. All we need is the two of us.
