Matt has been in town, waiting for this moment. He was there for me when Alex was born and he wanted to be here for when my baby girl was born. Matt, my parents, Steven, Tyler, and their parents all stand around the hospital bed as I get closer to giving birth to my baby. I know it's going to happen soon. The nurses have already started preparing for the birth of my baby as I shift uncomfortably, perspiration coating my skin. It's painful.

"Baby girl, it's okay." Matt whispers, holding my hand. "Remember, you've done this before."

I take a deep breath as a tear escapes my eye. "It hurts." I whimper.

I don't remember it hurting this bad last time. "I know, sweetheart." My mom says, brushing my hair out of my face. "But you can do this. You're strong."

Another contraction rips through me and I groan loudly in pain. "I hate you!" I cry, looking at Tyler.

His eyes fall to the floor and he slips his hands into his pockets. The nurses come in once more and check to see if I'm dilated. "It's time. Who's staying and who's going?"

"Matt, Mom and Tyler are staying." I answer.

The rest of the people leave and the nurses take their spots. My mom stands by the nurse and the boys each hold a hand. "Push on three." The nurse says. "One. Two. Three."

We do this a number of times as I scream. Crying, I pull Tyler's hand to my cheek. "I'm sorry." I cry, looking up at him. "I need you."

"Push!"

As I push, I turn slightly and bite his hand, not really meaning to. It hurts so bad. "Her name is Addison." I tell Tyler. "Like we agreed."

"Okay, baby." He nods. "Push."

One last big push and I hear my little girl crying. Matt stands by my mother looking at the baby while Tyler cuts the cord. The monitors begin beeping as the world begins fading away from me.

Everything happens so quickly. One moment we're looking at the baby, the next we're being shoved out of the room. Mia's mother cries while Matt holds her and I stare at the closed door in shock. The nurse who delivered Addison comes out with a cart. Addison lays in it, wrapped in a blanket. "What happened?" I ask, my voice cracking.

She frowns. "I couldn't tell you. I'm going to weigh and measure the baby in the nursery. As soon as I know something I'll let you know."

She walks away, taking the baby with her and I quickly wipe away a tear before it can fall. I haven't been there for Mia at all since she broke up with me. If something were to happen to her -

I can't think like that. Not right now.

Matt tugs on my shirt then nods to the doorway leading to the waiting room. He keeps an arm around Mia's mom while we walk to the waiting room. When we get there, everyone stands. When another tear escapes my eye, my mother wraps her arms around me. "Oh Tyler! What happened?"

I bury my face in the crook of her neck and cry until I no longer can. "She's beautiful, mom. We decided to name her Addison." I say softly when the tears have stopped.

"That's lovely." She pauses. "Everything's going to be okay, Ty."

I don't know what to say so I don't say anything at all. We sit down and wait for news on Mia. After an hour or so, the nurse from earlier comes back. "Addison is awake and needs to be fed. Would you like to do it?"

I glance at my mom and she nods encouraging me. I nod then follow her to the nursery. I sit in a chair and she instructs me on how to hold the baby. Once she's in my arms, I begin feeding her. Her big blue eyes stare up at me and I gently kiss her forehead. "I'll be right over here if you need anything." The nurse says.

"Okay. Thank you."

"No problem." She smiles.

I turn my attention back down to Addison. "I hope your mommy's okay. I can't do this alone."

The doctor let's us go into Mia's room after reassuring us that she'll be okay. She sleeps on the hospital bed, reminding me of the night I had to take her to the hospital when she was pregnant. Addison is asleep in my moms arms, leaving me with nothing to do. The rest of the family is downstairs in the food court due to Alex's request. I pull a chair over to the bed and sit, waiting for her to wake up. I hold onto her hand, kissing the top every once in a while.

I'm the first person she sees when she wakes up. She closes her eyes and pulls her hand from mine. "What happened?"

"Your blood pressuring was skyrocketing. If they wouldn't have fixed it so quick, you could've had a seizure or worse." My mom.

"Where's Addison?" She asks, looking around.

My mom stands up and carefully passes her over to her. She stares down at her, her eyes filling with tears, then glances at me. "She's beautiful like her mother." I whisper.

She sniffles. "Don't do that. You can't act like nothing happened between us. Sure, I love you. But I also fucking hate you. I'm not sure which one wins over the other yet. I think we're better apart."

I sigh. "All I said was you're beautiful. I'm sorry."

She looks back down at Addison then gently presses a kiss to the tip of her nose. "Where's Alex?"

"Downstairs eating." I answer. "Do you want me to get him?"

She looks at my mom. "Could you get Alex for me?"

"Of course."

She leaves and returns with Alex. I pick up Alex and set him on the edge of the bed. "Hey baby." Mia smiles.

"Hi momma."

"This is your baby sister. You get to help take care of her." She says, letting Alex look at Addison.

He smiles. "She's pretty."

"I know. Her name's Addison."

"Addison." He says testing the word. "I like Addison."

I smile. "When she gets a little bigger you guys can play together."

"Yay!" He smiles. "She can have my toy."

"Which one?" Mia chuckles.

He looks at Addison. "Batman. I like Batman."

"I'll take you so the store so you can pick out some stuff for her. Okay?" I say.

He nods then leans forward and kisses Addison's temple.
