Apollo POV.
How do we sneak back in?
I remember my escape from earlier. I rush to my balcony, and the rope dangles down before me.
I tell Pandora to sit on my shoulder, and I begin to climb up the rope.
A gaurd screams in alarm.
It rushes over, and I ask, "Yes?"
It growls, "What are you doing climbing up to the heirs room?"
I snap, "Oscar, do you not reconize me?"
I hang on with my right hand and my feet.
I shove my hood back. The gaurd hobbles off, and I keep climbing.
The sound of laughter sound from behind me.
I look back, and see Lance standing there. His hands are doing wierd motions.
My rope becomes wet, then hot.
I yelp, and swing up onto the balcony railing.
My feet find balancing on the railing easy, so I turn to face Lance.
Lance glares, and disappears.
I notice a cluster of giggling girls.
Whoops.
I shrug it off. I jump off the rail onto the balcony.
I find a large set of objects on my bed...
I notice a note.
It reads: These are for Pandora when she grows big enough to hold you, which is around 7 weeks. The first one is an advanced/eventing saddle, the secound a beginner and long distance saddle, and the last is a bridle. Kip will tell you how to use them each most efficiently.
Good luck,
Kalo & LanceI exclaim, "Pandora, guess what these are!"
She gives me and the equitment a side ways glance.
She guessses, "Riding Equiptment?"
I nod eagerly.
She whispers, "When do we start?"
I reply, "Seven weeks. September 4th."
Her face lights up, and flexes her small white wings.
We whisper in sync, "In four weeks we'll be being taught by the rider teacher."
We look at each other, shock rolling through the air. I smile.
Pandora asks, "When do we eat?"
I laugh, glancing at the clock.
I yelp in suprise, scooping Pandora up.
She growls, "What'd you do that for?"
I reply, running to the dining room, "The king wants to see me in ten minutes!"
Pandora gets a knowing look on her face, but I don't question it.
The stairs fly by, and soon we're in the hall.
It's about seventeen feet long, and twelve wide. It's full of tables and chairs. The walls are full of stained glass and tapistries.
The king has a scroll in hand. Nobody else is in the hall.
I ask, "What do you need, king?"
The king seems smug.
He announces, "I no longer need an hier! You will be sent to the rider's home tonight!"
I gape.
Pandora cries, "You are a selfish..."
I shush her with my hand on her lips.
The king waves his dainty hand, dismissing me.
I run back to my room. Shock covers me like a heavy, wet blanket.
I open the door, stuffing eveything of mine into suitcases. Pandora helps by picking stuff up off the floor when I drop something.
I hug her when we finish. The saddles sit on the bed, the bridle in it's own suitcase.
I ring for the queen.
She comes up.
She asks sweetly, "What do you need Apollo?"
I ask, "I need space for my saddles. What do you suggest?"
She thinks, then shuffles off. She comes back with a suitcase.
She opens it, and racks pop out.
The mages must of made it.
I thank the queen. She leaves with out so much as a goodbye.
I heave the saddles onto the racks. The bridle is also put over a rack. The suitcase shuts easily.
I pick up all four of my suitcases, and begin to walk towards the stairs.
An idea pops into my head.
I find a wheel, attach a crank, and carve a groove into the middle of the outside rim.
I tie the rope around the wheel, making a pulley.
I tie the suitcases to the rope, and lower them to the ground.
Soon, I dismantle the pulley, and slide down with Pandora gliding down by herself.I find Lance, and say goodbye.
He seems too shocked to react, so I take off to say goodbye to Kalo.
Kalo growls, "That old bat! Well, Kip will take good care of you. He always wanted a son, but his wife disagrees."
I laugh, and take off to wait for what ever was picking me up.
I expected a ratty old carriage. Not a pair of dragons with saddle bags.
A man with long white hair, a beard, and eyes that reflect experience dismounts the biggest of the dragons.
He walks up to me, studying me.
He looks at Kalo, who wanted to see me off.
He asks Kalo, "Is this the so called 'Shrimpy brat who likes to run off'?"
Kalo nods.
I ask, "Are you Kip?"
The man nods, and replies, "The last dragon rider teacher with credentials."
I smile, and ask, "What kind of dragon do you have?"
Kip replies, "Fire."
I smile, and introduce, "This is Pandora. Pandora, this is Kip."
Pandora sends Kip a message through me, "Hello. It's nice to meet you."
Kip smiles, and states, "I see you got a rare Winter dragon. Not to be confused for Ice dragons, they're extremely unique. I shall tell you about that while we ride. Do you have a long distance saddle and bridle, my boy?"
I nod, opening my suitcase. I heave the long distance saddle and the bridle out.
Kip smiles, and states, "Brand new! Wow. Must be the work of a mage!"
He winks at Kalo. Kalo nods.
Kip leads me to a dragon the size of three horses on top of each other.
He rants, "I shall now teach you how to saddle a small dragon."
Pandora sighs boredly.
