1 year later, Libbys' Pov.
I smile, twirling my sword.
It's been a while since my last letter from Apollo, but he's probably bussy with war stuff.
I've been getting better since Apollo left, my grades rising slowly.
Sharon is always there when I break down after his letters, and is always helpful.
I refocus on my mock fight.
I'm up against the Lethals Leader, Robert.
He swings lightly at my shield.
I swing my sword, releasing the stored energy.
My sword shatters the shiel, making Robert fall back.
We circle each other, and a flash blinds me.
I brace to fight an animal, but I smile at what emerges.
My Shadow!
Our teacher smiles.
I get my wolf Shadow to attack Robert, but avoid the sword.
I attack him with my sword to keep 8t from harming my Shadow.
He falls down as my Shadow grips his tunic from behind.
He falls to the ground, and wriggles to get away.
I set my foot on his chest, pointing my sword at his throat.
The teacher smiles broadly.
I hear my growling Shadow, and praise it in my mind.
Starlight has become a phase 3, so we fly alot. It's been hard raising him up from scratch, but it's totally worth it.
The teacher call me off when he begins to sweat in nervousnessl
My Shadow seems to be asking me something.
I ask her, "What do you need sweetie?"
She replies, "Can I have a name?"
I smile, ready with an answer, "Silver."
She smiles, blue eyes twinkling. She bounces around me like a happy dog, as we walk to our next class.
The letterman rushes up to me, excited.
He exclaims, "I have great news! Great news in deed! A letter from your friend!"
He hands it to me, and bounds away.
Wacko.
I grab it, and shove it in my bag.
I'll open it at supper.
I rush to flight.....
2 HRS LATER.
Finally!
I run outside, feet pounding the paved road. I see my favorte spot, and use my energy to reach it.
I take a flying leap, and grab the branch of the old maple.
I flip up onto the branch, and stare out into the starry night.
I pull the letter out, and smile.
His messy cursive is scrawled on the evelope.
I open it, not expecting what I read.......
