APOLLO POV.
Oh!
I slip the last sinch end into its' holder, and let the saddle flap flop down.
I grab the bridle, and loosen the mussle band.
I equip Pandora with a bridle, and tap her neck.
She smirks, and looks at the obstacle course Feona has been getting her to practice on. Hoops, horizontal and vertical weaving poles, under & over poles, a starting and finishing line markers, and tunnels litter the air above.
I hop on, slipping my feet into the stirrups.
Feona gets off the ground, where she apparently had fallen.
She sees Pandora and I, and gasps.
She whispers to me, "Be careful."
I nod, and bump Pandora's side. She bunches her muscles, and takes off down the runway. We take off as I hear Feona calling Athena.
I study the course as Pandora flies to the start line.
Then, at the sound of gunshot, Pandora takes off flying.
I get into the eventing position, where the rider lifts their seat from the saddle to allow better flight patterns.
I see a five set of under over poles. They're set up so you have to go under one, over the next, and back under the next until you're through them without knocking them at all..
I tuck myself into the same position horse jokeys ride in.
I let Pandora navigate them by herself.
The first down is exhilarating, and the up is pure adrenaline.
Pandora shares the same feelings towards our first flight together. Inferno and I have flown together, but this is soo much better.
The experience is enhanced by our bond, making us better rider and dragon.
I feel the wind in my face as we go through the poles. It's like a messed up rollercoaster as we weave between the poles.
Next up is the tunnel. It requires a lot of precision and speed to clear safely. Feona said when she was young, she made a single wrong nudge, and Inferno fell from the tunnel made of close hoops.
I help Pandora align herself, and smile.
The tunnel becomes crystal clear, and I nudge her a fraction to move right. She moves the correct amount, and she tucks her wings in. We shoot throuh the straight part, and dive through the downward curves.
Pandora and I cheer through the mind link. I direct her towards the hoop above us.
I nudge her as a warning of the sharpness of the next turn.
I hear a suprised gasp from below, but I decide to ignore it.
We shoot through the hoop spinning.
I smile as Pandora warbles with glee at the pure magic swirling around in the mindlink and our hearts.
I notice the vertical poles up next, so I tap Pandora on the neck.
She does a knife edge right before the set of six poles. We weave between the poles like water around smooth stones.
We leave the poles, then enter the horizontal weaving poles.
We bank left and right while staying parrallel to the ground.
We fly through the final hoop, marking the final obstacle.
Suddenly, my vision blurs. I notice my vision changing.
Then, I notice that my body feels bigger than normal.
I hear Pandora laughing.
She whispers, "Welcome to my mind. We'll be able to complete he last lap better now."
I smile, and shuffle my wings.
I look down, and see Athena and Feona standing below us.
They're looking up with shock writen all over thier faces. I laugh, and bank up with Pandora.
I look back to the course.
I see how this helps.
I weave the over unders with Pandora. I use my muscles to help Pandora weave through them.
Pandora shifts, and we finish the course in a blur.
We land at a bell toll, and Athena rushes up to us.
She's smiling, and cries, "That was amazing! I see why you're Tarri Corillos!"
I smile, and talk through myself, "Thanks. Pandora did all the work, really. I just stayed on."
Athena welcomes me in for ice cream, and I accept. Then, I panic.
Um, this could cause problems.
Pandora doesn't seem to know how to fix this, so I try to by myself.
Then in a shock of electricity, I end up back in my own body.
I dismount, and un tack Pandora.
