Chapter 15 : x breakout

Isabelle pov:

Alex fell asleep quickly. I was glad. I knew he hadn't slept in a day from when I was in his head or when he was in mine. I was still confused as to what it was. I could feel his mind like it was my own. Then he left and it felt like water flowing out of my head. It was weird but not bad weird. I was glad he stopped my nightmares. I thought they would never end at first. I stared up at the ceiling. I was weak. Add in the fact that I was so warm it was really comfortable I decided I wouldn't get up yet. I wasn't going to go to sleep, just relax. Alex moved In his sleep against me. Now he was facing me instead of laying on his back. I turned my head and studied his sleeping face. He had a slight smile and he looked peaceful. I curled up next to him and dozed off again. I wasn't fully asleep just half asleep. I was dimly aware that time was passing. Finally I fell asleep.

I woke up hours later. Alex was still asleep besides me sprawled out. I wasn't as weak anymore. Which was good because I needed to go to the bathroom. I got up and out of the covers. I silently raced to the bathroom. When I got out I realized I was still only wearing a tshirt and underwear. I pulled on some pants and walked out of Alex's room to max's office. When I went in max jumped up and rushed towards me and hugged me. I hugged him back. He pulled away and ushered me to sit. "I've been so worried about you. It's been two days since you got shot and I mean they said you'd be fine but I was still worried" max rambled out. "I'm okay now. Thanks to Alex" I said quietly to max, my voice still not working all the way. "Yeah he raced to get you. Caused me one hell of a headache while he was at it" max replied. "What do you mean?" I asked curiously. "He broke into my head to figure out where you were. It hurt like hell but the second he had he was already driving towards you. Seriously I've never seen anybody run that fast before" max said, answering my question. "He wouldn't have had to if I hadn't been so stupid. I sent you alone without backup. You could've died if they hadn't been using dart guns" max said staring off. I could hear the regret in his voice. "Don't beat yourself up max. You couldn't have know and besides I'm fine" I said and grabbed his hand. He looked up and me and smiled. "I'm so glad you're ok Isabelle" he said. "Now go get some rest" he said and I left heading back to Alex's room. When I got back the door shutting behind me woke him.

He had a confused sleepy look on his face. He mumbled something. I smiled and sat next to him. I loved him. "Morning sleepyhead" I said with a grin. He smiled and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. He sat up to where he was sitting next to me. I rested my head on his shoulder. "Glad to see you awake" he said. "Are you ok?" He asked. I nodded. "Just a bit tired" I added in. "When I saw you on the ground I didn't know if you were dead or not. It made me think. Even though we're just teenagers and we've only been dating for like 6 months, I don't ever want to lose you." He said. "And when I thought I had for a moment lost you i thought my world had ended" he added. Alex really did love me I thought to myself. He was a keeper. "I feel the same way" I said against his shoulder. "I love you Isabelle" he said. "I love you too Alex. So much" I said. I looked up at him and kissed him. It was a gentle kiss. I sagged against him. He pulled away. "I'm sorry about earlier with the mind reading" he said nervously. "It's fine Alex. I'm glad you did" I replied. He stared at me with his hazel eyes. "What did it feel like?" He whispered. "It felt like you were in my head. Like you were me. I could see your mind and some of your thoughts. And when you left it was like water rushing out my head. It was all weird." I replied. He looked horrified at himself. "But not bad weird. It was nice." I said seeing his look of despair. He looked away. "I'm a monster" he whispered to himself. "No Alex you're not" I tried reassuring him but he cut me off "yes I am. I was designed to be a weapon. I can break into people's minds. I can move entire cars with a flick of my finger." He continued on. He still wouldn't look at me. "Alex you may have been created to be a weapon but you aren't. You an amazing guy. You have gifts. They don't have to be used as weapons" I said grabbing his chin and making him look at me. He stayed silent for awhile just staring at me. "What did I do to deserve you?" He asked. "You are staring at someone capable of chaos and yet you still want to be with me. Why? Why be with me? There are better guys who aren't crazy or super powerful. Who are normal. Why are you with me?" Alex asked sounded truly confused. And I realized he was. He still thought he was trash. "I don't want normal or any other guy. I want you. Just you. You may think you don't deserve me but like I said if I have to stay with you forever to prove it I will" I told him. Before he could say anything I kissed him. Suddenly I felt his mind again. I pulled away. Alex looked confused. "I just felt your mind" I said. "I didn't do anything I swear." Alex said. Then a look of understanding came on his face. "It's the virus. It has to be. You had the symptoms. This must be the effect." Alex said. I couldn't believe it. Alex looked mortified. But in truth I was kinda happy. Being able to do what he did sounded cool. "It's ok Alex" I said before he opened his mouth. He stayed silent for what seemed like ages. "Here try it on me" Alex said. I closed my eyes and imagined my mind in the shape of a hand. I felt out for Alex and I found him. But I couldn't do anything more. I gasped and opened my eyes feeling extremely tired. My knees buckled and I almost fell over but I caught myself. "What is it? Are you ok?" Alex asked frantically. "Yeah I'm fine. I just need to get used to doing that train myself. "I felt it." Alex said. Now I was partially like Alex. I had more than one power.
